Senior Director, Strategy & Consulting (Emerging Markets)

Reporting to the SVP, Strategy & Consulting, this role is
responsible for working with the Emerging Markets BU (EMBU) to
shape, develop, and enable execution of strategies that will
advance and grow the business. The scope of the role will include
all key aspects under the purview of the EMBU, including key
markets, products, and other functional priorities. While this
position reports into the Strategy & Consulting organization, this
person will work closely with the EMBU leadership team in order to
stay connected to key business challenges and opportunities, and
ensure that there is alignment on strategic priorities, or make
adjustments to priorities when necessary. The scope of the role
will focus on three key accountabilities: 1) facilitate the
development of the BU strategic plan, providing a consistent
structure to the plans done across Pfizer, 2) manage projects
related to key strategic issues/business priorities for EM, and 3)
provide insights into market and competitive signals that could
impact business performance or strategic direction. From time to
time, this role may also be called upon to lead important cross-BU
Biopharma commercial strategic initiatives and/or specific Bold
+ Partner with the BU Global President, other BU leaders and/or
corporate functions to develop business strategies at a global, and
where appropriate, regional or local level.
+ Identify key strategic imperatives and capabilities required to
achieve these imperatives.
+ Facilitate completion of multi-year commercial strategic plans,
as well as implementation plans that enable robust execution of
+ Support the annual BU operating plan process, as needed.
+ Lead or actively participate in a portfolio of projects that
provide insight and direction for key strategic levers such as
market development, customer needs assessment, patient
segmentation, competitive advantage, market and/or product
+ Actively analyze and translate impact of these levers into
appropriate financial measures (e.g., revenue growth, margin, ROI,
+ Provide perspectives on the potential impact of external market
and competitive signals that could impact future business
+ Develop deep expertise in market dynamics in order to identify

+ As needed, engage with category triads and/or corporate function

Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences
and capabilities including: the ability to influence and
collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide

create business impact.
+ 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
Understands trends in healthcare and pharmaceuticals, aware of
competitor strategies, knowledge of healthcare dynamics in key
global markets and regions.
+ Understands key aspects of drug development and business
+ Ability to influence and persuade key stakeholders at all levels
of the organization (ELT, BU Presidents, department leaders, and
+ Must be able to influence and act as a trusted thought partner to
senior commercial leaders.
+ Demonstration of strong strategic thinking skills, as evidenced
by the ability to develop creative strategic frameworks, identify
range of scenarios, resulting implications, and recommendations for
direction or action.
+ Ability to understand and translate market and competitive
dynamics into strategic implications for the BU.
+ Good understanding of finance and P&L implications of any

+ BA/BS - required, life sciences degree helpful.
+ MBA preferred.
