Job Description:

The Senior Director, Finance and Accounting is responsible for directing LHW's financial and accounting policies, systems and processes, budget management, tax and regulatory requirements, and ongoing financial modeling. This strong leader's creation of a new global Accounting Team will be an important responsibility of the position as well. This position will oversee all aspects of the global accounting operations, developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures that maximize revenues, safeguard company assets, create efficiencies and improve financial reporting. The successful candidate will bring both proven experience in core responsibilities, as well as an entrepreneurial growth mindset and thought leadership to transform the Finance & Accounting department into an important driver of LHW's overall success. Key Objectives

  • Transform the Accounting function/team into a proactive, trusted, strategic partner for all operating units globally
  • Implement new technology platforms, capabilities and approaches to increase efficiency, accuracy and effectiveness
  • Ensure the highest quality reporting Responsibilities
    • Builds new global accounting organization and establishes functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.
    • Leads the accounting team by determining accountabilities; communicating and enforcing values, policies, and procedures; implementing recruitment, selection, orientation, training, coaching, counseling, disciplinary, and communication programs; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation strategies.
    • Establishes accounting operational strategies by evaluating trends; establishing critical measurements; determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; designing systems; accumulating resources; resolving problems; and implementing change.
    • Provides financial projections by coordinating budget/forecast preparation; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial information; and advising departments on the collection and analysis of data.
    • Recommends benchmarks and creates breakthroughs in company performance for measuring financial and operational performance.
    • Maintains cash reserves by forecasting cash requirements and obligations.
    • Minimizes legally required taxes by studying regulations; presenting tax strategies to management; and filing returns.
    • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations.
    • Performs periodic system review to ensure effective processing and minimal downtime for the deliverables.
    • Develops & plans internal control reviews to ensure data integrity and compliance with procedures.--
    • Prepares annual consolidated reporting under GAAP & international GAAP policies for external audit.
    • Administrates various benefit plans to assure compliance under DOL & IRS guidelines.
    • Reviews and implements VAT procedures, Filings and compliance issues.
    • Participates as a committee member and fiduciary to review the Company retirement plan administration.-- Requirements, Experiences and Qualifications The ideal candidate will have:
      • Bachelor's Degree with Accounting/Finance Major
      • 10 years of accounting related experience
      • International experience preferred Skills and Abilities
        • Sound critical thinking, discernment, and decision-making skills
        • Prior management experience, including leading and development of a team
        • Proven ability to organize staff members in support of departmental initiatives
        • Ability to influence and build trust without direct authority, with strong relationship building skills and teamwork
        • High degree of initiative and dedication
        • Ability to anticipate deliverables and plan accordingly
        • Excellent solutions creator and in- depth reviewer
        • Particular attention to detail and in-depth knowledge of internal controls
        • Relevant knowledge and experience with all accounting cycles
        • High level experience and proficiency in Balance Sheet reconciliation
        • Demonstrated ability to understand and apply GAAP policies
        • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication and presentation skills
        • Highly proficient MS Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
        • Familiarity using Great Plains and Microsoft Dynamics
