Job Description Reporting directly to our Head of Operations, our Director of Operations will play a critical role in the success of our business by leading critical operations teams, managing outsource partner relationships, and identifying opportunities to automate and optimize our business processes. This role is highly cross-functional - you will work closely with product & technology, analytics, sales, account management and underwriting to help deliver a best-in-class customer experience. What you'll do:

  • Build and own the operational plan to support new carrier and distribution partnerships; be the face of operations with those partners
  • Directly manage operations functions including underwriting operations, core operations, tools & systems, and compliance audit
  • Partner with the Director of Underwriting to implement new underwriting procedures and find areas of continuous improvement
  • Collect and provide feedback from customer-facing teams to Underwriting regarding underwriting and policy wording-related trends
  • Partner with technology product managers to identify automation opportunities to optimize experience and efficiency
  • Lead operational planning for new products; ensuring the customer care and operations teams flawlessly execute on new product rollouts, ramp to production, and steady-state operations
  • Manage the relationship with our outsource vendor, identifying new opportunities to scale more effectively in partnership with them
  • Ensure operational activities are running smoothly, service levels and quality expectations are being met by our outsource and in-house teams Qualifications:
    • A strong operator who has 8+ years of insurance operations, insurance consulting, or underwriting experience (preferably at a high-growth company) with increasing responsibility
    • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining operational policies and process for organizations at scale
    • 3+ years leading high performing teams
    • Highly analytical and structured problem solver
    • Excellent time management with ability to balance competing priorities--
