Lead of Operational & Enterprise Risk Management #5873 Short Hills , NJ All Locations Short Hills Corporate Position Type Officer Full-Time Area of Interest Requisition Number 5873 Job Description OVERVIEW The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Lead will work with the Head of Operational Risk and ERM to enhance the ERM framework as well as develop, implement and maintain an Operational Risk Framework for the Bank. They will serve as advisor on insurance to the Head of Operational & Enterprise Risk Management, the Chief Risk Officer, and Executive Management, working in partnership with insurance brokers, insurance companies and loss adjusters. RESPONSIBILITIES Manage Enterprise and Operational Risk Framework development, implementation and evolution. Activities may include, but are not limited to:

• ERM and Risk and Control Self Assessments --Work with the Bank's business units and control groups to ensure they fully implement the risks assessment processes and follow the prescribed procedures. Facilitate the assessment process and educate the assessors on the value they add. Ensure deadlines are met with deliverables that meet the high standards of completeness and consistency.
• Key Risk Indicators -- Own the process of collecting, analyzing, and reporting the Key Risk Indicators at the Bank. In addition, ensure that the business units and control groups have the appropriate metrics in place to ensure that all key risks and controls can be monitored, measured and, where necessary, escalated in a timely manner.
• Risk Appetite Statement -- Manage the process of setting the Bank's Risk Appetite and own the reporting of Risk Appetite metrics to senior management.
• GRC system management -- Develop and manage ERM/ORM specific modules in the Bank's GRC system (ARCHER), including documenting requirements for new functionality.
• New Product Approval -- Facilitate the review and approval of new products, including leading the committee meetings and working with the Head of the Enterprise and Operational to determine what initiatives require New Product approval.
• Issues Management -- Maintain the Bank policy for issues management and facilitate periodic reporting of issues to senior management.
• Manage Enterprise and Operational Risk Framework development, implementation and evolution. Activities may include, but are not limited to: Incentive Compensation Plan Review -- Review all new and revised plans to ensure they meet the Risk department standards. This includes coordinating with Credit risk and Compliance.
• Internal Loss Event Capture -- Ensure that the Bank's business units and control groups are identifying, recording, analyzing and reporting the complete set of their Operational Loss Event.
• Scenario Analysis -- develop and implement the Bank's op risk Scenario Analysis process, ensuring completeness of scenarios, appropriate attendance at workshops, bias mitigation re scenario parameter selection and detailed documentation of the workshop discussions.
• External Loss Event Monitoring -- ensure that operational loss events that have occurred outside of the Bank but that are relevant to its business and operations are tracked and lessons that can be learned are identified and followed up with the appropriate BUs and Control Groups.
• Insurance Advisory: Review and assess insurance coverage for physical and other losses; including insurance gaps, deductibles, and what is uninsured.
• Facilitate claims handling with the Bank, insurance companies, and the broker.
• Coordinate the collection of application information. Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, Finance, Business or another relevant field.
  • 10+ years' experience within the financial services industry within an operational risk, risk management, or compliance function.
  • Specific or practical knowledge of operational risk management disciplines including loss event capture, key risk indicators, risk and control self-assessments, scenario analysis, and issue management.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner.
  • Experience developing and cultivating professional relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
  • Must handle all company information with the highest degree of confidentiality and integrity
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. DESIRED
    • Strong leadership, collaborative and facilitative skills, including relationship building skills.
    • People management experience is a plus.
    • Experience with a GRC system.
    • Professional certification in risk management.
    • Strong analytical skills and experience with implementation and administration of operations control function in mitigation of operational risk.
    • Experience in insurance/risk management, or liability broker for the energy industry.
    • Prior insurance negotiation and insurance claim experience.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of workers compensation, general liability, OCIP, ERISA terminal liability, construction insurance and BOLI.
