Join us, and discover the next step in your career journey.Job DescriptionThe Plant Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring plant quality compliance, product quality improvement, and manufacturing process capability. This position leads problem solving and continuous improvement activities to improve product and process quality, and is accountable to resolve field and in-plant quality issues.Objectives* Ensure site-wide safety, in both behavior and environment with plant leadership team* Improve Initial Quality claims year-over-year* Improve Cost of Poor Quality spend year-over-year * Improve internal Quality metrics year-over-year* Sustain Certification and Regulatory compliance* Ensure Quality disciplines (FMEA, Control Plan, Process Capability) are deployed for new product introductions* Sustain and Improve QMS - (Core Process Audits/Management Review)* Improve Waste Stream Cost - Report Out to Corp Senior Management ( Quality Council)Day-to-day Responsibilities* Advise, consult, coach, and lead corrective actions, process improvements and implement a "culture of quality". * Ensure quality is built into the process as demonstrated in daily product and process audits.* Improve quality performance of assigned products, processes, manufacturing areas and outcomes.* Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions to resolve quality nonconformance.* Ensure customer satisfaction through routine review and sharing of field performance data and corrective actions with plant leadership team.* Define and lead quality initiatives to improve product quality and process capability.* Incorporate the use of Lean/Six Sigma tools and methods in team activities.* Improve process discipline through deployment of basic quality tools (ex. Standard work, Layered Process Audits, Structured Problem Solving).* Drive process capability through deployment of quality control tools (Gage R&R, Process Cpk analysis, SPC, etc.)* Champion corporate initiatives in quality and operational excellence.* Comply to and expand the quality management system infrastructure using ISO principles to ensure robust, repeatable, high quality manufacturing processes.* Ensure compliance with all government and industry standards/codes for product and process quality.Key Relationships* Other Plant Quality and Manufacturing Operations Leadership* Plant Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Supervisors, Maintenance Manager, Quality Engineers, Quality Technicians and Auditors* Corporate Quality Team, Senior Operations LeadershipQualificationsEducation And Experience* BS in Mechanical, Chemical, Polymer or Materials Science Engineering. BS in Applied Sciences* 5-8 years of quality/process management with a minimum of 5 years' experience with responsibility for the development and implementation of product and/or process quality. * Expertise in ISO quality systems and structured problem solving is required.
