Job Description:

Construction Project ManagerThe Hudson Companies is a New York City residential and commercial real estate developer, builder and owner. We are seeking a Construction Project Manager to serve as Hudson's primary construction liaison on several projects under construction and/or in pre-construction. Hudson works with both in-house and third-party general contractors/construction managers, depending on the project. Hudson has been in business since 1986 building multi-family projects throughout New York City and is an industry leader in sustainable market-rate, affordable and institutional development. The Construction Project Manager will work with colleagues in the Development and Design groups to actively engage our third party contractors on all project-related tasks. Responsibilities will include:

  • Set standard for quality construction practices and implementation
  • Review architectural plans
  • Analyze and review change orders while also managing Bank Engineer Inspections
  • Monitor contractor schedules, buy-outs and scopes
  • Work collaboratively with Hudson Project Managers, Design Managers and Principals
  • Maintain strong working relationships with General Contractors and Consultants
  • Manage multiple projects and, provide a timely presence at the jobsite as the owner's primary construction oversight
  • Oversee coordination between contractors, architects and development staff regarding RFI's, look-aheads, shop drawings and other submittals
  • Review and approve monthly construction requisitionsResponsibilities may also include pre-construction activities such as design review, cost estimating and/or bid leveling.Requirements:
    • 3-7 years experience in Major Construction, preferably in New York City, preferably residential
    • Background in Architecture or engineering a plus
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to negotiate with contractors in a professional and effective manner
    • Demonstrated ability to follow-up and follow-through
    • MS Office Competency, especially Excel, Word and Project
    • Extensive knowledge of New York City code requirements preferred
    • Extensive knowledge of DOB & BEST inspection procedures preferred
    • OSHA 40-Hour Certification preferred
