GENERAL SUMMARY:

Engine US has an exciting opportunity for a curious mind to join their Business Research team as a Business Research Senior Manager with a particular focus on secondary research. The senior manager works on a very dynamic, fast-paced team to solve business problems for Engine's clients and will have a great deal of autonomy to grow and service our diverse client set.

Using secondary research as the foundation of our deliverables, we often work with our clients to address their business challenges by providing insight on the following:

Market sizing / Market share
Market / Company profiling
Audience demographics
Competitive and strategic intelligence
Trend / Innovation monitoring
Omnibus analysis and delivery
Social analytics
Expert industry analysis
Industry best practices

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Research Senior Manager will develop compelling stories, will comfortably and independently complete research in client-ready form within tight deadlines.
Will routinely analyze data, provide key take-aways, and recommend next steps for research to clients.
Compile, analyze, and interpret data from internal and external sources, through a combination of published research and primary research methodologies.
Arrive at a single, actionable story or narrative for our clients, and be able to articulate key themes and findings from the research.
Prepare client-ready reports and presentations most often in MS PPT, Word and other programs as needed.
Uncover and disseminate best practices in use of information and knowledge.
Where possible, devise new methods of improving efficiency and effectiveness in data compilation, data analysis, and data interpretation.
Partner with other business units/teams to scope out, fulfill and deliver integrated project results that encompass both qualitative and quantitative results.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficient secondary research skills including experience with secondary and qualitative research techniques in databases like Factiva, Nexis, AlphaSense, Brandwatch, Kantar, etc.
Ability to organize, prioritize and handle multiple short term and longer-term research projects without compromising quality or missing deadlines.
Expert in the use of MS PPT and Word for report preparation and visual storytelling.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - connecting research to real world business challenges.
Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
Ability to make independent choices regarding matters of significance to business operations.
Works well independently and as part of a closely-knit team.
Experience, interest, and potential to interface and partner directly with clients.
Professional, disciplined self-starter that takes initiative to solve problems.
Experience with interviewing and / or social media analysis is a plus.
Possess a general interest and curiosity to learn and experience something new every day.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required.
5+ years of relevant experience is required.
