Come join the team responsible for delivering the Visual Studio family of products and many Developer Services. We pair world class editing, debugging, and diagnostic tools with cloud services to create developer experiences for building next-generation applications and services that target a variety of devices and platforms, including Windows, iOS, Android, Azure and more.These Release Team is responsible for the timely and secure release of client and live service products, but also finding ways to improve the internal processes that finalize a release to make them as transparent and lightweight as possible for our developer teams.**Responsibilities**+ Coordinate all Visual Studio and Visual Studio for Mac releases, working with engineering and PM teams to track issues, features, and content for each release, at minimum handling 4 releases in parallel.+ Plan release schedule with input from engineering and PM teams,communicate to all relevant stakeholders.+ Evaluate release processes and identify areas for efficiency improvements and automation.+ Drive a culture of transparent, repeatable, predictable development processes.+ Identify risk and coordinate mitigation of these issues.We're looking for someone with:+ Deep knowledge and passion for software release management, specifically on how process improvements can be accomplished without adding additional "red tape" to ground level work done by supported development teams.+ Ability to apply good judgement to risk assessment, flexibility to react quickly and build consensus as a result of shifting objectives or timetables.+ Outstanding cross-group collaboration skills and proven ability to drive initiatives across organizations.+ Ability to develop and track progress metrics and release work volume.+ Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills, and the ability to have multiple communication channels happening parallel.+ A passion for deeply understanding customers.+ A support-first mindset, aimed at making the work of others more efficient, and building systems that enable their success as the prime goal.**Qualifications**+ 5+ years of experience in a software release management role (Program Manager, Release Manager, Producer or similar).+ 2+ years of experience with supporting an ongoing product through patches, servicing, or scheduled content updates.**Preferred Qualifications:**+ Experience with both agile and waterfall development practices, ability to hybridize the two as needed.+ Previous experience as part of a feature crew/team and ownership of functional specifications/plans.+ Excellent communication and collaboration skills.+ Experience with both client product and online service release deployment.\#DevDivJobsThe salary for this role in the state of Colorado is between $ 126,900 to 190,400.At Microsoft, certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance.
