Position Summary This critical, trusted leadership role acts as the right-hand person to the CIO, driving strategic business planning, short and long-term alignment, budget planning and alignment, and direct change management throughout the IT organization. The VP's role is essential to the successful delivery of enterprise-wide technology transformation, innovation, and modernization. - In this role, the main focus is ensuring the CIO's agenda is met, strategy is reflected in our multi-year technology portfolio plans and budget, and the leadership team and sub-functional teams across the global IT organization are operating to deliver it effectively. -
This position is based in New York City and reports to the CIO. Key Roles & Responsibilities
Business leadership
---Leads transformational efforts of the IT function to ensure scale and acceleration are possible as we pace the commercial grith trajectory; efforts include talent & skills, ways of working, modernization, and strategic partnership refinement.
---Supervises all change management related to organizational transformation inclusive of all implementation and communication plans.
---Manages the day-to-day operations of IT such as a program managing key initiatives and collaborating with global support functions to design, deliver and measure the impact of transformational efforts.
---Acts as an orchestrator for the CIO by facilitating alignment of the leadership team, ensuring adjacent areas of IT are connected and collaborating according to our operating model, risks are addressed, alignment is facilitated, and business objectives are delivered. -
---Supports stakeholder engagement across IT and ELC by leading and collaborating with global communications and the Tech Lead organizations to prepare effective executive and external presentations. -
---Owns annual and ad hoc culture & engagement efforts, which are a cornerstone of the IT function at ELC.
---Oversees initiatives, projects and commitments directly involving the CIO including understanding alignment issues among stakeholders and driving to resolution.
---Provides strategic advice to CIO to continuously improve daily management
---Prepares and submit reports, including service reporting and budget actuals vs. forecasting, to CIO and team (e.g., Monthly Executive Deck and Operational Review)
---Partners with Finance on plan, actual, forecast, and variance, as well adoption of services-based financial reporting, ensuring CIO approach is reflected, trade offs are strategically considered before proposed, and portfolio is funded according to strategic direction.
---Partners with HR on culture & engagement efforts, organizational evolution and redesign, and talent succession planning, ensuring efforts align to strategic direction and transformation.
---Leads special projects as needed and as your experience may present. Technical Leadership
---Owns management and oversight of the PMO and VMO teams within IT, responsible for providing leadership in furthering and maintaining best practice vendor management capability and managing the total vendor ecosystem in collaboration with VMO Lead.
---Leads the PMO team in collaboration with the PMO Lead to further define and develop enterprise-wide IT project management practices, governance standards, processes, and metrics. Operations & Alignment
---Facilitates effective relationships throughout IT, and internal as well as external stakeholders' organizations, including managing and supporting strategic engagement, onboarding, and orienting new leadership, and supporting regular communications.
---Build connections with all Technology leadership and brand, region and functional business leaders as appropriate.
---Leads the cause for efficient and effective use of leadership time including planning and leading effective CIO staff meetings, extended leadership meetings, managing town halls and leadership off-sites.
---Prepares and occasionally facilitates key CIO meetings. Accountable for ensuring that meeting objectives are realistic, staff preparation is appropriate, and the CIO is well prepared.
---Accurately reflects the CIO's position in internal meetings and communications to promulgate general understanding of CIO's expectations and priorities.
---Put the appropriate Tools and measurement systems in place to drive adoption of technology transformation and strategic priorities; Design and help implement operational efficiencies through process improvements & simplification.
---In partnership with Corporate Communications, develops draft communications, presentations or action item follow ups on behalf of CIO and / or research in support of internal and external communications.
---Identifies proactively issues potentially impacting successful execution of CIO's commitments, and frame, position, and escalate them for effective resolution.
---12+ years' experience required
---Experience in leadership role required; IT organization experience preferred
---Technology savvy and keen interest in technology required
---Possesses exceptional interpersonal skills and communication skills; conveys complex concepts in simple terms across functions, organizational levels, and cultures (written, presentation, and verbal) -
---Strategic thinker who is an expert in planning, communications, and financial management; can execute strategies, develop actions plans, "connect the dots", and lead execution teams to achieve goals and deliver results.
---Proven systemic thinker with substantial experience leading global transformation initiatives; Experience in large scale change management & transformation, process design and user experience -
---Strong drive for results; innate problem-solver and collaborator who can overcome obstacles to achieve results. -
---Ability to work in a dynamic and complex environment; Strong-willed, a fast learner, and able to effect changes quickly.
---Self-starter, takes initiative to anticipate needs and risks, thrives in ambiguity, and effectively manages upward and across levels to align parties around common visions and action plans. -
---Possesses well developed program, project, and enterprise risk management skills
---Experienced in project/program management, portfolio management methodologies and tools; prior experience leading a PMO team preferred; vendor management team experience a plus
---Strong negotiation skills, with the proven ability to manage disputes and disagreements
---Possesses advanced analytical skills to discern patterns quickly, and make well-informed recommendations and decisions
---Demonstrated track record and highly regarded leadership, coaching, and people management skills
---Demonstrates unquestionable integrity, including capability to be extraordinarily discreet and judicious
---Experience planning and managing large operational and/or project/program budgets
