The New Jewish Home is currently seeking a full time an Assistant Director of Information Technology to join our team! Job Summary: Reporting to the Director of the Information Technology, the Assistant Director of Information Technology is responsible for leading the Technical Team in technical related projects and systems implementation, including CyberSecurity, Datacenter, Infrastructure, Network, Mobile devices management, Telephone systems, Desktop and laptop configuration, and Systems patching (software/hardware firmware updates). In addition works with the Director of IT to develop and monitor operating and capital budgets for the department. The Assistant Director of IT will also serve as the HIPAA Security Officer for the organization. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages complex technical related projects/programs from design and development to production. Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Defines resources and schedule for technical related project/program implementation, working with appropriate staff to create strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning. Plans and schedules project deliverables, goals and milestones.
  • Ensures adherence to quality standards. Maintains issue logs to track and manage project, vendors and consultants.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear manner. Determine and assess needs/involvement of staff and where required, negotiate with department managers for staff/resource commitment and/or involvement.
  • Manages the maintenance of application specific testing, development and training files and databases and ensures they realistically represent the production environment.
  • Responsible for ongoing management, upgrade, support and troubleshooting for assigned application systems. Provides management of quality assurance process and testing of applications, patches, fixes, operating system updates\patches and customizations. Coordinates and manages the implementation, testing, training and documentation of new releases and software upgrades with IT technical staff and users.
  • Ensures compliance with established regulatory standards, rules and regulations governing administration, security and privacy of employee and health information.
  • Manages customer expectations and keep customers informed of status and projected time frames for completion of projects and resolution of projects. Customer is informed of status and target for resolution and actions needed to resolve problems.
  • Ensures IT policies are up to date in the areas related to the IT technical team.
  • Responsible for directing 3rd party vendor and delivery of services (i.e. datacenter vendor). Establishes and manages productive vendor relationships insuring contractual obligations are met
  • As the HIPAA Security Officer, establishing and maintaining HIPAA-compliant mechanisms for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and accessibility of the organizations healthcare information systems. These responsibilities will include:
  • Establishing, managing and enforcing the Security Rule safeguards and any subsequent rules issued by OCR.
  • Integrating IT security and HIPAA compliance with the organization -s business strategies and requirements.
  • Addressing issues related to access controls, business continuity, disaster recovery, and incident response.
  • Organizational security awareness, including staff training in collaboration with the HIPAA Privacy Officer.
  • Conducting risk assessments and audits - especially with regard to Business Associates and other third parties.
  • Investigating data breaches and implementing measures for their future prevention and/or containment. Skills & Requirements Specialized Skills and Competencies:
    • Extensive knowledge of project planning, customer service and management.
    • Extensive understanding of procedure development and user training methods.
    • Ability to develop and manage software/system implementation plans, projects and teams along with ability to manage simultaneous projects.
    • Ability to develop and manage technical projects with in depth view of the projects' effect on IT technical operation in part, and the organization in general.
    • Must possess strong technical skills, qualitative and quantitative analytical skills along with good organizational skills and judgment.
    • Requires strong interpersonal qualities, the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing along with the ability to deal tactfully, effectively and equitably with people.
    • Requires understanding in Technical management of IT infrastructure, Cybersecurity and Data center management for a TNJH size organization. Age Related Skills and Competencies: -
      • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with adults and geriatric population. Job Qualifications:
        • Graduate of a four (4) year college or university with a Bachelor Degree is preferred.
        • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in related information technology field Physical Demands:
          • Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, speak, and listen for long periods of time.
          • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
          • Ability to travel between campuses and sites.
