Job Description

This role is responsible for setting the vision for and operationalizing the learning and development strategy in the Home Office and for designing career pathways for Home Office employees. They will serve as a Learning and Development expert- supporting other teams to design and deliver necessary training. They will partner closely with colleagues on our instruction, operations and Talent Acquisition teams to align on career pathways strategies across Uncommon. This role will serve as the Talent Strategy Team's DEI liaison- working with the DEI team to ensure the org-wide strategy is implemented across our talent practices and turn-keyed to all employees to implement in their own work.Envision and Implement Learning and Development

  • Create and operationalize a vision for Learning & Development for Uncommon Schools' Home Office (central office) staff
  • Collaborate closely with the Uncommon's Diversity, Equity and Inclusivity team to ensure organizational DEI priorities are cascading through Learning & Development
  • Partner with Director of DEI to design Home Office DEI curriculum and train Home Office colleagues to be DEI facilitators
  • Design an onboarding experience for all Home Office employees- creating necessary content and training leaders and managers to implement the onboarding program
  • Research, propose and implement new models of learning across the Home Office, leveraging Workday functionality and external partnerships
  • Act as a consultant and coach to other functional teams designing and delivering trainingsImprove and Expand Manager Development
    • Take existing manager training series to the next level- reaching all managers at Uncommon's Home Office throughout their tenure
    • Develop and deliver training content on topics of management, leadership, problem solving and other topicsDesign Career Pathways Strategy
      • Partner with leaders in Instruction, Operations and Talent Acquisition to design an aligned career pathways strategy
      • Create the roadmap for Home Office Career Pathways, earning support from senior leaders at UncommonImprove Employee Engagement
        • Work with Talent leadership to develop and implement strategies to improve employee engagement across schools and the Home Office
        • Coach leaders and managers in the Home Office to create a strong employee experience for their team members
          Qualifications
          • 7-10 years of professional experience required; 3+ years of Learning & Development experience & 3+ years of Learning & Development experience
          • Bachelor's degree required
          • Ideally, you have experience designing and leading Learning & Development at a resource-constrained organization, education, or operations
          • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and have strong presentation skills
          • You are an expert project manager
          • You prioritize and are able to build strong relationships across a diverse group of colleagues
          • You are able to inspire peers and leaders to action without formal authority
          • This role requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
