Job Description:

Peridot Fine Jewelry is a luxury jewelry business located in the heart of Larchmont, NY. Were looking for a passionate leader to join our small team in the critical role of Retail Sales and Merchandise Manager for our brick-and-mortar store and our growing eCommerce site. The ideal candidate will partner with the owner to oversee all sales and client relationships both in-store and via eCommerce. This position incorporates social media, email marketing, daily interaction with our designers as well as playing a key role in buying and planning.
About the Store:

  • Our store is open fromTuesday Saturday.Your work hours will be9am 6pmduring those days.You must be willing and able to work all Saturdays.We are open extra days in December, and you will be expected to adjust your schedule to accommodate the holiday hours, but you will maintain a 5 day work week.
  • We are conveniently located one block from the Metro-North Train Station (40 mins from Grand Central on the New Haven line).
    Responsibilities:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with our store and eCommerce clients by learning their favorite designers in an effort to anticipate their next purchase.
    • Plan and execute client outreach on a regular basis for upcoming special occasions such as Birthdays, Anniversaries, Holidays, etc. as well as whenever new merchandise arrives in-store and online.
    • Manage all aspects of seasonal Trunk Shows from inviting clients to helping select and merchandise Trunk Show assortment.
    • Learn the details of our designers unique processes and style of handcrafted jewelry, as well as their typical price point. Facilitate connections between designers and clients.
    • Communicate daily by email and phone with our designers to manage and coordinate all Special Orders and Repairs. This includes anything from sizing a ring to managing the design of a custom piece between the client and designer.
    • Assist in the merchandising of the store by ensuring all pieces are displayed beautifully and coherently. Re-merchandise the cases as new pieces arrive.
    • Prepare sell-through and on-hand reports to create a budget for each designer on an ongoing basis. This includes preparing proposals for bringing in new designers as well as reviewing and placing final orders.
    • Utilize your extensive knowledge of our client base to inform our buying plans including decisions to bring in new designers.
    • Analyze fill-in needs, and re-order staple pieces that should always be in stock.
    • Prepare weekly sales reports in Excel to look at trends by designer, price points and categories, to understand how we are measuring up to prior years.
    • Oversee our Point-of-Sale software and work with developers on frequent changes and software updates.
    • Support our eCommerce function by brainstorming about content, user experience, and general website performance and aesthetics.
    • Share ideas about new growth strategies for Instagram posts and stories as well as contributing to photography content on these platforms.

      Qualifications:
      • College Degree or equivalent work experience.
      • Excellent verbal, written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.
      • Extremely strongattention to detail.
      • Experience with Google Suite, Microsoft Suite (including Excel).
      • Comfort and confidence in a client-facing role. Previous sales experience preferred.
      • Passion for handmade artistry, jewelry, and fashion. Strong enthusiasm for building connections with designers and clients.
      • Desire to learn about the inner workings of a small business and contribute to the companys growth and brand recognition.
      • Outgoing, friendly, enjoy working with people one on one.
      • Ability to grow and thrive in a very small but highly efficient collaborative team setting.
      • Roll-up-your-sleeves attitude, including an ease switching gears as the job demands. Ability to cover most store functions if one of your teammates is out of the office.
