The National Book Operations Manager position is for you, if you
Establishing training process and assisting with training for all
book specific systems
Monitoring bookstore and book department sales and performance
nationally and in each location
Effectively communicating via phone calls, email, formal and
Key Accountabilities - your team is counting on you as a National
Book Operations Manager to:
Collaborating with all necessary departments, help define,
implement, and improve operations strategy, structure, and
processes for book & bookstore operations.
Establish training process & assist with training for all book
specific systems, processes & brand standards (including indie
brands), such as promotions, ordering, receiving, returns,
merchandising, customer service.
Monitor bookstore & book department sales and performance
nationally and in each location. Design, conduct, and share
diagnostics to conduct complete onsite & remote performance reviews
for all KPIs & standards for books & bookstores, including
promotional compliance. Identify issues, create solutions, and

Interview book candidates/support recruiting & interviewing process
for book candidates.
Work with vendors and book wholesalers/publishers to troubleshoot
Suggest & order displays, titles, products as appropriate.
Contribute to and foster the overall bookseller/books community at

soliciting editorial content (blurbs, social media engagement,
etc.), & self-education via book reviews, news, networking and

National Book Operations Manager Required Qualifications:
Excellent analytical & reporting skills, business acumen, and
comprehensive understanding of book & retail economics
Broad & deep experience & knowledge of books & the book industry.
Passion for learning.
Effective & efficient. Manage competing priorities. Have good
project implementation, management, and follow-up capabilities.
Have good attention to detail & organization.
