  • Doctorate, PhD or PsyD in psychology or closely related field required
  • New York State school psychologist certification or certification eligibility
  • Understanding of special education compliance and/or experience navigating charter school system and CSE
  • School-based psychologist work experience with evidence of measurable student growth
  • Teaching experience preferred
  • Experience with trauma-informed and healing centered practicesWhat You'll DoThe Senior Director of School Psychology will report to the Senior Director of Special Populations and will be responsible for providing differentiated counsel, guidance and support to students in our 8 schools. More specifically, the Senior Director of School Psychology will lead and collaborate across the below critical domains.SPECIAL POPULATIONS PROGRAM CONSULTATION
    • Develop capacity of school-based staff during expansion of the 12:1 program, through strengthening individual and class instructional and classroom culture building practices and interventions, both academic and behavioral
    • Develop effective liaison relationships with parents, schools, and agencies.
    • Consult with school-based staff on students whose needs we are not yet adequately meeting, and need additional insight. May include student observations, designing support plans for individual students, attending to academic and behavioral needs.
    • Consult with network-based staff on support services, social emotional learning and other supports
    • Consult with families who would prefer not to interface with the CSE
    • Provide direct support to select families who request and/or would benefit from additional advocacy while navigating the referral process
    • Analyze a variety of data to make informed decisions around the best next steps or interventions for students
    • needing additional supportPROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT
      • Lead professional development around trauma-informed instructional practices, designing effective behavior and academic plans for leaders, support services, teachers and school culture staff
      • Develop and lead professional development for teachers around developing and implementing effective student support plans
      • Actively engage in identity work and necessary conversations in order to dismantle white supremacy cultureCOMPLIANCE AND CLINICAL SUPERVISION
        • Clinical supervision for select school counselors and social workers
        • Complete assessments and evaluations to identify student needs and make referrals as appropriate
        • Consult with appropriate professional staff, external agencies, and other organizations as necessary based on scholars' needs

Our network office is located in DUMBO, Brooklyn. Our schools are currently operating fully in-person. For this position:
            • Some in-person work is required.
            • This is an exempt position and is not eligible for overtime.
            • The standard work week is 45 hours, though at times you may work more. For non-exempt roles, employees are eligible for overtime for any work over 40 hours.
            • As this role requires being able to go into our school buildings, which are co-located in DOE buildings, all staff members are required to follow the COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Please reach out to if you'd like to see a copy of the mandate.
