Job DescriptionJob Description: Position Overview: The production manager will support production for the footwear department and report to the VP of production, as well as the DVP of footwear. The production manager will work closely with vendors, design, quality control and sales. The ideal candidate is willing to take initiate and exercises strong problem-solving skills. Responsibilities:Vendor Relationship• Communicate and follow up with overseas vendors daily.• Send stock and customer inquiries to vendors. • Request pricing from vendors.• Negotiate costs and calculate landed costs to check margins. Uncover opportunities to reduce costs.• Support sourcing strategies and help onboard new vendors. • Maintain a strong relationship with current vendors.• Help ensure on time deliveries.• Troubleshoot sourcing, development and lead-time issues with the factories.• Allocate orders to the proper factory and ensure a healthy spread of orders between vendors. Reporting & processes• Create and maintain a production calendar by season. Hold all relevant parties accountable to deadlines.• Create and maintain work in progress chart.• Style master setup and maintenance.• Purchase order entry.• Determine the proper HTS codes for all products.• Follow up, review, and maintain test reports. • Manage master charts by brand with all style info.• Various reporting: budgeting – sell thru – seasonal sales projections. Operations & inbound logistics• Ensure our ERP site has estimated carton dimensions and CBMs in the system for all open orders. • Follow up with factories to make sure cargo is ready on time, and booking requests are submitted on time. • Monitor orders and manage a master booking sheet. Include the cargo ready date, shipping lane, and priority level if necessary. • Analyze and assess delay request forms from overseas offices and factories. Check sales orders effected and communicate updated due date to sales. Requirements:• 3-5 years' experience • Strong verbal and written communication skills.• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Highly organized and detail oriented. • Understanding of product development and production process.• Analytical with strong mathematical skills.• Footwear experience a plus.
