Overview:
The Operations Manager is responsible for the oversight and management of all operations in the region. The Operations Manager's role is to manage field staff, oversee multiple projects simultaneously, perform site visits on a regular basis, be present for any major onsite operations, ensure operations are completed safely, on time and within budget, attend any preconstruction/planning and safety meetings. In this role the operations manager will be responsible for assisting with the development and execution of estimates for various general conditions and construction access scopes using in house labor and coordination of third-party vendors.

Responsibilities:
Daily work site visits to track work progress and ensure all safety protocols are being adhered to by the onsite team.Coordinate with customer and aid in planning for all needs across multiple division - general labor and carpentry, access equipment, scaffolding, OHP, hoists and tower cranes.Prepare labor and material estimates based on customer requirements and site conditions for various applications including carpentry, scaffolding, hoisting and miscellaneous general construction scopes. Responsible for managing and tracking daily workforce time and materials Establish and maintain relationships with local vendors, suppliers and subcontractorsCommunicates and regularly meets with Superintendents and Foreman to identify current and future opportunities -Ensure weekly Toolbox Talks are being conducted on site Ensure Daily pre-task plans are being completed and reviewedTrain foremen in time entry software (HH2)Review Field payroll: collect timecards, enter timecards in HH2, assist with coding hours, enter payroll into system as needed, sort and distribute pay checks weeklyEstablish and maintain working relationships with management team, staff in other departments, subcontractors, and clientsCompose correspondence, reports, forms, and other documents independently Communicate effectively with others individually as well as in small and large groupsOrganize and plan work to meet deadlinesIdentify problems and implement or recommend solutionsSchedule training and certifications for field personnelParticipate in project and/or team meetings

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and/or 10-15 years related experienceMinimum five years estimating experience in the construction industryBasic understanding of contract review and negotiationKnowledge of DOB requirements and construction permitting and regulations for NYC and the State of New YorkKnowledge of principles and practices of business and managing personnelBasic research methods and techniquesComputer applications used in general office settings, including word processing, spreadsheet, database management, email, and internet search enginesConstruction industry experience necessary and/or required departmental experience necessary Experience working for or with a union subcontractor preferredCandidate must possess FUSE's Core Values: Passion, Integrity, Hard Work and ProfessionalismMust be able to work independently with minimum supervision, use independent judgment and leadership techniquesAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize effectively Must be tactful and use discretion Flexible, detail-orientedAble to work effectively as part of a team and productively maintain confidentiality of information

Working Conditions:
Construction jobsite and warehouse conditions, which include exposure to high temperatures; cool/cold temperatures; weather conditions, and loud noises. - Some general office and construction trailer working conditions. Job site walking. -While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level and spend additional time on the physical job site or construction trailer. Job site walking.
