Ascend Wellness Holdings is looking to hire a Brand Manager to join the Marketing team!

  • This role sits in either IL, MI, NY, NJ or MA and is remote.Ascend Wellness Holdings (AWH) is a vertically integrated cannabis cultivator, processor and dispensary operator with assets in Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Ohio, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Our goal is to build a world class team that will continue our mission of helping to shape the future of cannabis and bettering our customers life with cannabis.THE ROLE:Reporting to the Vice President Brand Marketing, the Brand Manager role is a career opportunity that puts you in the driver's seat to build brand strategy, integrated marketing campaigns, new products and go to market actions to make AWH the #1 go-to cannabis operator in the country. This role requires a dynamic, collaborative and experienced marketer with commercial acumen, project management, brand foundations and a strong marketing, analytical and innovation background who can balance strategic thinking against the key tactical execution priorities.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:
    • Strategic Planning through to Brand Activation: leverage marketing knowledge and creativity to help build, develop, and improve our lifestyle portfolio of brands
    • Set Marketing strategy per state/brand/product and execute campaigns to meet brand and company goals
    • Portfolio management: Managing the innovation pipeline, go-to-market and performance of our portfolio of products
    • Leverage agency partners and internal resources on Above the Line / Below the Line brand creative and consumer marketing
    • Be an expert on consumers including consumer marketing, segmentation, targeting, etc.
    • Owning holistic marketing programming and promotional calendar across brand and retail, being a key player in the concepts and tactics
    • Create, gain alignment on and deliver brand strategy, analyzing category opportunities, identifying key consumer targets, innovation opportunities and activation strategies.
    • Support the development of a full portfolio of innovation pipeline in conjunction with different cross-functional teams
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate brand elements into plans and assure gold-standard go-to-market execution
    • Budget management: Oversees budgets across brands
    • Measure and report performance of marketing campaigns, and assess ROI and KPIs
    • Monitor market trends, research consumer markets and competitors' activities
    • Oversee new and ongoing marketing and advertising activities
    • Monitor product distribution and consumer reactions
    • Align the company around the brand's direction, choices, and tactics
    • Report monthly activations to management
    • Educational strategy, programming, and executionJOB REQUIREMENTS:
      • Education: Minimum of Bachelor's degree - preferably in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing.
      • Experience / Background: At least 5+ years of Marketing experience
      • Experience in Cannabis, CPG, alcohol or tobacco will be an asset
      • Proven ability to develop brand and marketing strategies and communicate recommendations to executives
      • Experience in copywriting to drive branded content across channels
      • Experience in identifying target audiences and devising effective campaigns
      • Excellent understanding of the full marketing mix
      • Strong data-driven analytical skills partnered with a creative mind
      • Up-to-date with latest trends and marketing best practices
      • Copywriting skills are an asset
      • Ability to work independently and as a part of a cross-functional team, in a fast-paced environment; must be a self-starter able to work well under pressure
