Director of Marketing Hogansburg, NY, US 3 days ago Requisition ID: 1467 Job Summary: -The Director of Marketing will be responsible for the overall operation and leadership of the Marketing Department at the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort.The Director of Marketing serves as a dynamic, positive leader, fostering teamwork, employee morale, motivation and open communication while managing the operation of the Marketing Department. The Director of Marketing will be responsible for the successful overall direction and management of all activities in relation to the guest service, ensuring effective promotions, special events, as well as maintaining good public relations. -Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Exhibits a friendly, helpful and courteous manner when dealing with our guests and fellow associates, providing exceptional guest service. -
  • Communicate in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner at all times. -
  • Responsible for consistently improving the guest experience at the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort.
  • Develop, implement and maintain a targeted casino customer base, establishing strategies and production standards for the accomplishment of objectives.
  • Execute all Marketing business plans to ensure performance and profit objectives for short and long-term goals are met.
  • Ensure the proper preparation and execution of all special/promotional events and determine the targeted database selection for events.
  • Review analysis and identifies promotions/events schedule for the casino customer base to ensure targeted markets are maintained.
  • Coordinate the Player Development in effective database marketing such as direct mail pieces, player tracking and slot club promotions.
  • Coordinate with the Promotions/Special Events Manager to develop effective on-floor and special events promotions.
  • Coordinate with Player Development area to help develop, coordinate and implement player programs.
  • Maintain tiered player's club.
  • Direct and monitor all marketing analysis for accuracy and reports pertinent information to the General Manager.
  • Must be well versed and experienced in campaign management, Profit and Loss statements, budget and market plans.
  • Prepare accurate and informative marketing reports, plans, conclusions and recommendations to present at weekly TEAM meetings.
  • The Director of Marketing will be responsible for maintaining a close working partnership with the Guest Services Department to ensure overall success of Marketing and Player Development area.
  • -Works with all departments to promote the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort.
  • Director is responsible for developing and coordinating programs to attract mid to high limit players and host such guests to ensure guest satisfaction and repeat visits. -
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining a domestic player base tracking system to ensure quality player data is input and output for all marketing purposes. -
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicate in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner at all times. Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers and staff.
  • Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
  • Attend all necessary meetings.
  • Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed. Hours are determined by a 24-hour 7-day week schedule.
  • Resolves conflicts and facilitates changes in structure of marketing group to ensure objective fulfillment and swift response to marketing problems and opportunities.
  • Conducts marketing surveys on current and new product concepts, and provided feedback for future product development.
  • Coordinate with Public Relations Manager to establish and maintain a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events.
  • Analyzes data to ensure correct advertising spend in target markets.
  • Coordinate with Advertising/Direct Mail Manager to analyze -customer data base and makes recommendations for direct mail campaigns, ensuring ADT -(Average Daily Theo) tier levels -receive correct offer incentives.
  • Analyze customer database for; demographics, spend, revenue, profitability, frequency, recency, past dues, in-actives, and make recommendations to increase visitations and spend.
  • Must be able to quantify all expenditures with pro-formas, and compare to actual results. Must be very experienced with financials, and able to fully understand and explain.
  • Strong computer abilities in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) are essential. Knowledge of Mariposa, IGT Advantage, and other data base programs are extremely helpful.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills required.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret complicated documents, such as technical journals, financial and statistical reports and legal documents with an ability to respond to complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to present information to top management, public groups and/or Akwesasne Mohawk Casino LLC Board.
  • Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions and provide solutions.
  • Must demonstrate leadership, fairness, and sensibility to the customers and employees. -
  • Successful candidate must be an experienced, results oriented, and hands-on professional.
  • Works closely with Human Resource department to develop and implement a Succession Plan for the position of Director of Marketing, along with a mentoring program for tribal members
  • Other duties as assigned by the General Manager.Supervisory Responsibilities: The Director will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsible for the overall management of the Advertising/Direct Mail Manager, Promotions/Special Events Manager, Public Relations/Social Media Manager, Graphic Designers and Database Manager. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Education/Experience:
    • -Baccalaureate Degree in Marketing, Business, Hospitality Management or related field required.
    • -Master's Degree preferred, but not required.
    • -Ten years experience in the gaming industry with a minimum of ten years in marketing management on a director level in a leadership role.Language Skills and Reasoning Ability:
      • Must possess excellent communication skills.
      • Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.
      • Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.
      • Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.Physical Requirements and Work Environment:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. When on the casino floor, the noise levels increase to loud. Must be able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted.

        • Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees and members of the business community in all situations.Required Licensing: -Must obtain and maintain a New York State certification and St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Gaming Class III License which requires a complete background check. Successful candidates for employment must submit to and pass a drug test for illegal substances prior to employment being confirmed. In case of a positive result, the candidate is not eligible for employment with the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort. Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screening.
