Located in midtown Manhattan, Guttman draws a culturally diverse student body from across New York City and is a federally designated Hispanic Serving Institution.The College is committed to using a range of innovative approaches to achieve its goals and to improve student persistence, retention, completion, and transfer. The centerpiece of Guttmans educational model is an integrated first-year core curriculum, where students examine current world issues and use New York City as a living text and laboratory. Thus, connecting information and concepts across multiple disciplines, contexts, and perspectives. This immersive approach equips Guttman students with the foundation of knowledge and skills essential to their intellectual, social, civic, and professional endeavors in and beyond the classroom. The College admitted its first cohort of 300 students in August 2012 and has established an enrolment target of 5,000 students in the coming years. Before applying, candidates are strongly encouraged to visit the Stella and Charles Guttman Community College website ( ) to learn more about the institution.Reporting to the Dean of Enrollment Management, the Director of Strategic Enrollment & Persistence Initiatives will assist in overseeing the development, administration and coordination of campus-wide and departmental policies, programs and procedures related to student enrollment, persistence, and success. The Director will supervise the Student Information Center (HUB) and assist in the coordination and management of centralized Division of Enrollment Management (DEM) operations in support of a culture of collaboration that is data informed and student-centered. The Director is also responsible for the maintenance of all current articulation agreements and regularly works with academic departments to create new agreements to streamline the transfer process. Additionally, this individual will work on several different programs relating to increased student persistence and graduation rates with a focus on reengaging stop-out/drop out students.Additional key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop, analyze and report on large complex data sets, including exporting/importing from various sources (Including CUNYfirst, Connect, Starfish, and other systems). Manage and maintain comparative point-in-time data on student inquiries, applications and other enrollment metrics.
  • Direct the on-boarding process for all DEM employees; conceptualizes and manages ongoing staff training activities for the Division.
  • Work with the Dean on strategic planning for DEM; set and monitor Systematic Approach for Guttman Effectiveness (SAGE) goals for DEM and oversee SAGE plan creation and implantation for units within DEM.
  • Assess and monitor student success and retention rates of various identified target populations, developing new initiatives and strengthening existing programs to respond to academic and support needs.
  • Collaborate with the Communications Office & DEM unit leaders create a compressive internal student communications plan and develop digital marketing campaigns for the division.
  • Serve as co-coordinator of New Student Orientation Program and manage Bridge Program enrollment and retention logistics in partnership with the Division of Student Affairs and the Division of Academic Affairs.
  • Maintenance of all articulation agreements; implementation of a review schedule to maintain accuracy.
  • Manage readmission process in collaboration with the Office of Admissions and other key enrollment units.
  • Certify Veteran student enrollment as Guttmans School Certifying Official (SCO).
  • Oversee the implementation of new advisement and enrollment technologies in partnership with unit directors.
  • Represents the various Enrollment Management units in-person (e.g. public speaking, informal discussions) and in writing, to various audiences both on and off campus.
  • Serve as a member of the Dean of Enrollment Management leadership team; serves as liaison with external constituencies for the DEM, including University-wide Committees and Taskforces.Note:

Additionally, the successful candidate must work collaboratively with all levels of students, staff, faculty, and a wide variety of campus stakeholders.
