Location:Secaucus, New JerseyJob Summary:This position is
responsible for all areas of accounting and financial reporting
functions. This position is responsible for leading and directing
the timely and accurate completion of all periodic accounting tasks
and activities and financial reporting. In addition, this position
is responsible for making recommendations to the CFO for the
development and enhancement of accounting principles, practices,
and procedures to satisfy all SOX requirements.Responsibilities:Key
Accountabilities:
- Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring
compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory
requirements
- Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of
revenue, costs, and program budgets and actual expenditures
- Primarily responsibility for timely reporting of month-end,
quarter end and year end closing process
- Consistently analyze financial data and present financial
reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate
monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor
progress and changes and keep senior leadership abreast of the
companys financial status
- Assist leadership in the annual budgeting and planning process;
administer and review all financial plans and compare to actual
results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as
appropriate
- Responsible for the Company's financial statements, including
timely and accurate submission of required Securities and Exchange
Commission ("SEC") filings, including quarterly reports on Form
10-Q, annual report on Form 10-K, earnings release and other
current reports on Form 8-K
- Serve as liaison with the external auditors in connection with
the independent audit of the Companys financial statements
- Maintain relationship with bankers, auditors, and other
relevant service providers
- Review monthly consolidating financial statements and analysis
for senior management
- Prepare as needed, ad-hoc financial statements as well as
forecasting models and analysis
- Supervise, manage and directs all activities of employees in
Accounting Department by scheduling and assigning work, directing
employee work, checking quality of work, and determining materials
and methods for completing work. Trains employees, develops,
implements and maintains departmental policies and procedures and
assists employees with decisions for which there is no precedent.
Coordinates special projects as needed.
- Maintains current industry knowledge by reading newsletters and
journals, and attending industry meetings and training sessions
related to changes in Telecom laws, rules and procedures as they
relate to Federal, State and company issues. Confers with other
departments and outside parties to develop plans to implement
changes effectively
- Provide oversight of external tax providers in the preparation
of tax returns
- Serve as Accounting expert with the Audit Committee of the
board of directorsEducation and Experience:
- 15 + years of experience managing finance and administration
matters of a high-growth, mission-based organization
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting; CPA required;
Masters degree in Business, Finance or related field preferred
- Must possess strong leadership skills with direct experience
managing large team of diverse individuals
- Knowledge of ERP systems
- Retail, Public company and SEC reporting experience
- Big Four public accounting experience a plus.
- Keen analytic, organization and problem solving skills which
allows for strategic data interpretation versus simple
reporting
- Experience in a senior-financial management role, partnering
with corporate executives, resulting in the development and
implementation of creative financial management strategies in a
manufacturing or consumer goods environment
- Knowledge of management accounting, cost and inventory
accounting, and GAAP
- Must show a consistent track record of achievement and success
in increasingly senior roles in a fast growing organization
- Proven track record of solid Accounting and Excel skills
- Must possess the ability to think strategically but also be
willing to dig into detail and use technical skills to solve
complex accounting issues.
- Keen eye for detail and the ability to effectively
multi-task
