Your Role and Responsibilities
The Strategy Director, Brand is a leadership role on the IBM Brand and Content Strategy team at IBM in Marketing, Communications and Citizenship. As the global discipline leader of brand strategy at IBM globally, this leader must be a strong advocate and expert in the meaning, strategy, and expression of the IBM brand, and is responsible for applying our principles for brand building and naming across the company to support our business strategy. This responsibility includes guiding advancement of the IBM master brand, as well as our portfolio and offering brands at IBM.This leader will be responsible for building a strong brand strategy discipline-to develop and uphold standards for branding and naming, to be a trusted partner to product marketing teams, business leadership, and Intellectual Property/Legal, and to identify, develop, and mentor key talent.To do this job well, this professional must have extensive experience and confidence handling a wide range of brand strategy issues and will most likely have gained that broad experience working for a variety of clients in an agency environment. Candidates with agency experience will be preferred. He/she must also have exceptional skills in critical thinking and be able to distill vast amounts of information and research into actionable insight to deliver strong recommendations. This leader should have a strong ability to influence others and feel comfortable and confident advising senior business leadership. This professional must also have a proven track record for managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 6+ years of brand strategy experience in a corporate or agency setting.
  • Proven track record in leading high-profile, large-scale projects.
  • Strong team player and collaborator.
  • Skilled in providing strategic input and guidance for creative work, with a strong attention to detail, particularly for brand identity systems development and management.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

    • Travel Required: Up to 100% or 5 days a week (home on weekends - based on project requirements)
    • Projected Minimum Salary: $140,000 per year
    • Projected Maximum Salary: $261,000 per year
