Grade/Class: Grade J, Exempt, PSA-Eligible -

PRIMARY FUNCTION: -
The Senior Brand Director will play a pivotal role on the Brand & Marketing team and for the organization overall. This person will be the ultimate ADL brand champion, defining, refining and reinforcing the brand and how it stretches across all ADL communications and engagement at a national, divisional and regional level. They will also lead on efforts pertaining to market research, paid media, and campaign development and execution, partnering often with the Communications and Strategy & Innovation teams. Responsibilities
Primary: -


  • Refine and own brand strategy for ADL overall, in partnership with the VP, Brand & Marketing, as well as its various programs, products, initiatives and research in coordination with other B&M team members. -
  • Champion the ADL brand's strategic positioning and architecture as needed, demonstrating deep understanding of key brand traits. -


    • Drive campaign development both proactively and reactively in the wake of current events. -
    • Oversee strategy and implementation for national paid media campaigns, coordinating with the social media team for those platforms. -
    • Manage and direct market research efforts as they pertain to brand, audience and messaging. -
    • Develop a deep understanding of ADL's target audiences to inform brand strategy. -
    • Along with the VP, Brand & Marketing, own the ADL brand story and ensure consistency in its telling. -


      • Partner with the creative studio and content strategy team to maintain brand guidelines and implementation platforms. -
      • Manage the Education Marketing Manager and oversee ADL's promotion of its education programs and products. -

        Secondary: -

        • Act as a thought partner to departments during the development stage of new initiatives. -
        • Work in partnership with the Creative Director to ensure creative alignment of the visual brand identity. -
        • Create a center of excellence and act as an internal consultant for departments and regions on all brand-related matters. -
        • Project manage and develop strategies as needed for high visibility initiatives. -

          Qualifications
          Skills: -

          • Excellent storyteller. -
          • Ability to distill a complex brand into an elevator pitch, billboard or :15 video. -


            • Highly motivated self-starter with a strong sense of urgency. -
            • Demonstrated ability to turn metrics, research and data into actionable strategies. -
            • Strong organizational, communication and personnel management skills (up, down and across). -
            • The ability to be flexible and excel at managing multiple projects at once. -
            • Collaborative team player with a positive attitude. -


              • Must be decisive and know how to enforce brand standards. -
              • Passion for and belief in ADL's mission. -
              • The ability to find creative solutions to resource limitations. -
              • Ability to translate audience insights into opportunities that can be converted into clear strategic direction. -

                Work Experience: -

                • Extensive experience in brand management roles with a demonstrable progression in skills and responsibility in marketing, brand and/or advertising roles. -
                • Experience developing and implementing annual brand marketing plans and budgets. -
                • Experience either working at or managing agencies. -
                • Experience with market research, a plus if in the non-profit space. -
                • CRM experience a plus. -

                  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or related field or equivalent experience. - -
                  • MBA a plus. -

                    Work Environment:--- -

                    • ADL COVID-19 Protocol (updated periodically): ADL is adhering to public health guidance regarding COVID-19.                       Compensation:---

                      • This position has a salary range of $135,000 to $175,000. This salary range is reflective of a position based in New York, NY. Please note that actual salaries are commensurate with experience and reflect the budget for a given position, and since ADL has a location-based compensation structure, there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.---For an overview of our total rewards package, please visit https://www.adl.org/about/careers. -
