Marketing Manager - Onsite Job Summary Reporting to the Director of
Marketing and Communications for Mount Sinai Beth Israel (MSBI),
Mount Sinai Brooklyn (MSB), and New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of
Mount Sinai (NYEE), the Communications & Marketing Manager is a key
member of the department, who will work in partnership with the
Hospital Marketing Team in developing and executing short and long
term marketing and communications programs and campaigns for
internal and external audience at MSB, MSBI, and NYEE. This is an
onsite role, with the Communications & Marketing Manager splitting
his/her time between MSB and the Downtown Campus (MSBI and NYEE).
Duties and Responsibilities Mount Sinai Brooklyn (50%)
- Serve as a proactive, hospital-focused resource for MSB. Gain
an appreciation for and understanding of the history and culture of
the Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) and MSB by developing
relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders at MSB and MSHS
to better understand the culture and people at the hospital and the
Health System.
- Have integral understanding of MSHS brand to ensure programs
and materials at MSB are compliant and consistent, supporting
alignment with the brand.
- In partnership with the Director, acquire an understanding of
business needs and identify marketing and communications objectives
and opportunities. Gain a deep understanding of the market, patient
population, and competitive landscape in Brooklyn (including
tracking competitive advertising and activities on social media,
print, out of home, and events taking place in the Brooklyn
market).
- Work with the Director to develop integrated marketing and
communications plans in order to meet organizational goals and
objectives. Provide guidance, creative direction, and hands-on
support to departments and staff at MSB in execution of projects
(project management, writing, editing, vendor management,
etc.).
- Write, edit and distribute hospital-wide
communications/announcements to MSB via available mediums,
including global email, intranet, and mobile platform. Work in
coordination with the System Director of Internal Communications
and the Senior Director of Hospital Marketing to distribute any
System-wide communications as necessary.
- Coordinate with System teams, such as Press Office, Social
Media, Digital, etc., and lend support as needed related to System
wide communications.
- Write, edit, and manage editorial projects as needed, in
coordination with and support from System Departments. Develop,
collect, and edit social media content, and manage channel updates
on a regular basis. Oversees management of intranet for MSB.
- Research and establish relationships with select community
organizations. Lead planning and management of on-site and off-site
events, as needed, working with MSB's Director for Community
Relations and Director of Marketing. Manage and/or participate in
community events in evenings or weekends as needed. Keep track of
event activities and outcomes.
- Work with Director of Marketing and Communications, Service
Line Marketing Team, and central marketing and communications to
develop and deliver campaigns for specific service lines housed at
MSB in support of driving patient volume, revenue and brand
recognition. Maintain promotional and collateral materials
inventory.
- Website management (content development, photography,
production)
- Assist Director in developing and submitting regular progress
reports to assigned clinical and administrative leadership and
System Senior Director of Hospital Marketing.
- Serve as secondary Public Information Officer (PIO) for MSB
Incident Management Team. Mount Sinai Beth Israel and NYEE (50%)
- Assist Marketing Director and Sr. Marketing Manager with
development of integrated marketing, PR, digital, web and
advertising plans. Coordinates implementation of campaigns as
directed.
- Maintain promotional and collateral materials inventory
- Track results from campaigns and marketing activities
(including listening to calls generated by vanity numbers from
campaigns and compiling reports)
- Researches competitive products, niche markets and new business
opportunities as requested
- Support special projects, trade shows and employee events
(planning, onsite support, etc)
- Coordinate and assist with photo shoots as needed (awards,
staff events, headshots, etc)
- Development of collateral materials and signage (writing,
design, production)
- Write, edit and distribute hospital-wide
communications/announcements to Downtown campus via available
mediums, including global email, intranet, and mobile platform.
Work in coordination with the System Director of Internal
Communications and the Senior Director of Hospital Marketing to
distribute any System-wide communications as necessary.
- Website management (content development, photography,
production)
- Assist with video production (scripting, scheduling shoots,
overseeing videography)
- Manage Intranet updates and/or mobile platform updates
- Other duties as assigned Other Responsibilities:
- Develop high impact Power Point presentations, event tracking
reports, competitive research reports and other presentation
materials for various stakeholders at three sites.
- Collaborate with the Hospital Marketing team, identifying
opportunities for improvement, developing efficiencies and
visibility strategies that can be adopted across all hospitals
- Travel required throughout year for MSB, MSBI and NYEE
events
- Flexible hours to accommodate staffing of events, including
evening hours and some weekends Support employee engagement efforts
and all MSHS initiatives (IT, communications, branding, etc.)
across campuses as needed Minimum Education Bachelor's Degree in
Marketing, Communications, or related field. Minimum Related
Experience
- 4+ years' marketing communications experience working cross
functionally across a large, complex environment with multiple
internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in supporting the planning and tactical
implementation of integrated marketing and communications programs
and campaigns for internal and external audiences.
- Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Must be a collaborative, strong communicator and listener with
sensitivity to multiple styles and perspectives; able to build and
foster strong relationships with diverse constituencies.
- Ability to engage with senior leaders, physicians and other
Hospital and System staff and leadership to direct and indirect
team members to achieve objectives.
- Strong project management skills necessary.
- Proactive and results oriented with the ability to translate
and move plans into action. Experience in photoshoot management,
creative development and production of print and digital
materials
- Experience in community outreach and event planning
preferred
- Strong Power Point skills
- Content development and management of social media platforms
(Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) General Skills
- Dynamic presentation and communication skills (written and
oral)
- Effective at driving initiatives and getting programs off the
ground in a complex, matrix organization

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to
comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job
Advertisements.
The salary range for the role is $79,720.00 - $119,580.00
Annually.
Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including
experience, education, and hospital need.
The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include
bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation
or benefits.
