Job Type : Standard Description PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE: The Director,
Global Retail Innovation, is responsible for leading the overall
Retail Experience strategy for the brand including Retail strategy,
Services and Special Projects. The Director will supervise the
Senior Manager, Global Retail Experience to create best-in-class
retail experiences to recruit, engage and convert consumers. KEY
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Retail strategy, In-store Experiences &
Retail Marketing
- Work hand-in-hand with Executive Director to drive the
evolution of the brand retail strategy, including
conceptualization, creative briefing and communication of strategy
to global and regional team.
- Drive collaboration with Store Design, VM and education to
ensure close alignment and partnership on development of retail
strategy.
- Oversee/develop the in-store Consumer Journey for new retail
concepts and experiences; communicate journey and share strategy to
Global Visual Merchandising team to bring concepts to life across
multiple channels in the in-store environment.
- Communicate vision for all innovative in-store and omni-channel
engagement elements including print and digital consumer-facing
collateral, experiential technologies to enhance the
experience.
- Develop and cascade strategy to cross-functional partners
including Global Consumer Engagement, Social, and Online teams to
ensure experience-related digital content is created and promoted
via social and EL .com to push online traffic to brick-and-mortar
retail.
- Partner with Global Education to align on frontline sales staff
training needed to execute in-store experience with
excellence.
- Liaise with Regional Brand Managers and Marketing teams across
all regions to ensure programs meet regionally relevant needs and
are delivered in accordance to regions' marketing calendars.
- Oversee Manager in conceptualization and execution of seasonal
global retail experience customer takeaway offerings including
project brief to Indirect Procurement, vendor selection, price
negotiation, Creative design process and market order
recapping.
- Manage seasonal delivery timelines: complete Asset Request/Grid
requests, oversee Launch Book content and ensure on-time delivery
of seasonal retail strategies in the Fragrance, Promo/HTM, and
Experiential Retail categories
- Define experience KPI's, gather learnings and metrics from
regions and affiliates to determine success and ways to improve
In-store Experience & Retail Marketing - Services
- Oversee the development, strategy, and execution of the always
on Estee Lauder Beauty Services platform. Lead conceptualization,
copy drafting, creative execution and distribution to regional
partners. Align key stakeholders from all consumer journey
touchpoints for roll-out and on-going seasonal updates.
- Support Global Education in the management of the Cabine (Spa)
program including managing in-store collateral to support the
experience, advise on VM needs, etc.
- Partner with Global Education to align on frontline sales staff
training needed to execute in-store experience with excellence
- Partner with Global Online to ensure consistency in online
virtual service offering, creating a truly omni-channel services
experience
- Define experience KPI's, gather learnings and metrics from
regions and affiliates to determine success and ways to improve
In-store Experience & Retail Marketing - Experiential Retail &
Special Projects
- Lead experiential platform competitive research,
conceptualization, and development and innovation with Vice
President Retail Experience; provide guidance and direction to the
Senior Manager, Retail Experience, in execution of specialized,
experiential regionally-focused events and activations (e.g. Custom
Blend Lip Lounge, Regional Pop Up Events, etc.)
- Partner with Global Retail Experience category leads (including
Technology Director), Corporate Innovation Team, Global Brand
Quality, and IT Teams as necessary to bring experiential retail
activations to life.
- Partner with the Vice President to lead the retail experience
strategy for Special Initiatives like Sustainability and
Philanthropy
- Act as the key Retail Experience liaison on the Flagship
Freestanding Store of the Future strategy and execution; partner
with agency, Global IT, Creative, VM, and Education to drive truly
state-of-the-art and innovative retail solutions that drive
discovery, engagement and conversion at point of sale.
- Define experience KPI's, gather learnings and metrics from
regions and affiliates to determine success and ways to improve
Personnel Management and Coaching Coach, Mentor, and Develop Senior
Manager - Fragrance category Retail Experience development, Makeup
Artistry, and Experiential Platforms & Customization Qualifications
Position Requirements:
- College degree required, MBA-preferred, with minimum 8 years
related consumer marketing and event experience, preferably in a
global environment.
- Experience in Beauty, previous Point of Sale retail experience
or work within the retail industry a must.
- Interest in retail innovation and desire to keep a pulse on the
latest technologies across all industries.
- Excellent writing, organizational & communication.
- Assertive and confident in peer-to-peer and group meetings when
communicating Point of View, delegating next steps, or briefing on
upcoming projects and initiatives; comfortable presenting and
speaking to all levels including senior brand team, President, and
key stakeholders
- Proactive problem-solver and out-of-the-box-thinker, while
practicing good sense of judgement for independent-style
leadership
- Self-motivated to meet and exceed goals; drive efficiency in
process, and innovate process to improve overall team function
- Able to be completely self-sufficient, take initiative, seek
insight and advice from multiple mentors; comfortable with little
oversight on day to day work
- Highly engaged, always contributing new ideas or supportive
comments for team members
- Able to prioritize, lead and manage multiple projects
simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Able to effectively collaborate and influence across groups at
the global, regional, and local level
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications - Word, Excel,
PowerPoint
- Ability to Travel The anticipated base salary range for this
position is $113,500 to $195,000. Exact salary depends on
several
factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary
range may vary based on
geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is
eligible for participation in a
highly competitive bonus program with possibility for
overachievement based on performance
and company results as well as participation in the share incentive
plan.
