Job Description:

Who are we hiring?The Manager of Fixed Assets will lead daily operational, accounting, and certain financial reporting activities for the Company, reporting to the Director of Corporate Accounting. This position requires technical accounting knowledge of the long-lived asset process.

The Manager of Fixed Assets is responsible for the centralized oversight of consolidated fixed assets and related construction in progress and labor capitalization, including the identification, accounting, valuation, reporting, and reconciliation of fixed asset accounts.

The Fixed Assets Manager will actively manage and oversee one senior accountant.

Additionally, the Fixed Assets Manager will be responsible for process enhancement and related documentation, identifying key areas to further leverage automation and project management thereof, performance and documentation of SOX controls, supporting external and internal audit requests, certain quarterly and year end disclosure deliverables for MSG Entertainment's Form 10-Q and 10-K, and other projects as assigned by the Director of Corporate Accounting. What will you do?--- Responsible for the maintenance of complete and accurate accounting records for the Company's consolidated fixed assets in accordance with US GAAP, including detailed maintenance and appropriate usage of the ERP subledger. --- Verify appropriateness of capitalization for both Property, Plant & Equipment and Labor and ensure capitalization is aligned and complies with the Company's Fixed Asset Accounting Policy and US GAAP. Make recommendations and enhancements where necessary.--- Review monthly depreciation calculations and perform trend analyses to provide to various business leaders for analytical review.--- Review ERP subledger to general ledger ensuring all reconciling items are identified and appropriately resolved.--- Collaborate cross-functionally with various business departments and technical accounting to identify fixed assets with potential valuation and recoverability concerns. --- Assist with managing the month end close process, performing and reviewing various month end close activities while ensuring the accounting records are complete, accurate and recorded on a timely basis.--- Responsible for the oversight of monthly reporting requirements & quarterly and year end disclosure requirements for Property, Plant & Equipment for the Forms 10-Q and 10-K.--- Responsible for maintaining the process narrative, documentation and SOX compliance for Property, Plant & Equipment, certain aspects of book close, etc. Serve as the final reviewer for certain key controls and timely address any requests from internal and external audit.--- Willingly perform special projects/respond to ad-hoc requests made by the Director, Corporate Accounting.--- Ability to develop and actively manage relationships with various departments to garner the information and support needed to perform job functions. --- Identify and implement process improvement activities by automating processes, utilizing existing systems and reducing manual work effort wherever possible. What do you need to succeed?--- CPA and Big 4 public accounting strongly preferred

  • Strategic thinker/ability to effectuate meaningful change and identify efficiencies.
  • Consistently demonstrates a "run it like you own it" mentality and exemplary direction and supervision skills.
  • Proactive leader who is able to efficiently identify issues, research/troubleshoot, and propose appropriate solutions to said issues in a timely manner.
  • Strong verbal communication/interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate relevant business processes to both accounting and non-accounting members of senior leadership.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience (minimum of manager level attained in large public accounting firm or equivalent)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office required
