Job Description:

Medical Director opening in New York, New York. A New York City health services network is actively seeking an experienced professional to join their Executive Leadership team as their new SVP / Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer. In this role, the SVP / Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer will be responsible for leading organizational change within the network to ensure that culture is imbued with the values of diversity, equity and inclusion. Responsibilities: The SVP / Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer will:

  • Provide system wide leadership support for the Health Equity Program, including developing, coordinating activities that promote system-wide efforts to advance overall health outcomes for patients
  • Support initiatives to improve health systems Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (MWBE) program and MWBE representation in procurement opportunities and contracts awarded
  • Align DEI with business strategies and standards to achieve an optimized workforce that improves outcomes and the patient experience
  • Leverage methods, metrics and benchmarks for measuring DEI progress and continuously improving efforts
  • Implement health equity initiatives that will help drive patient outcomes and reduce healthcare disparities
  • Create learning and development experiences to develop staff and leaders who model and drive inclusive behaviors
  • Administer and oversee system-wide language service contract and operations
  • Oversee all DEI programs and related activities and formulates effective strategy to drive the diversity, health equity and inclusion goals
  • Manage large-scale contracts and maintains vendor relationships related to DEI activities, including the development and execution of solicitation requests and performance oversight to ensure adequate service level standards are met
  • Maintain the department's budget, including the preparation, allocation, expenditure and monitoring of funds in accordance with our policies and procedures
  • Respond to requests from elected officials, prepare written testimony and other related materials, and testify before legislative bodies on behalf of the the network
  • Serve as the network's Civil Rights Coordinator on non-discrimination and accessibility for patient-related services to oversee initiatives
  • Lead activities related to the EDI Board Committee and EDI Councils
  • Ensure ongoing compliance and maintenance of the Health Systems policies and other applicable external requirements and guidelines
  • Perform other duties, as needed Qualifications:
    • 6+ years of progressive experience/leadership in Diversity, Health Equity, Inclusion, MWBE Procurement and Executive Management in a Healthcare system / setting
    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Hospital, Health Care, Public Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development, Community Health, Public Health, or other related discipline
    • Experience leading departments or units working on education of Diversity, Health Equity, Inclusion, MWBE Procurement, etc.
    • Experience assessing team member needs related to Diversity, Health Equity, Inclusion, MWBE Procurement excellence
    • Experience in interpreting health equity data
    • Solid problem solving and time management skills
    • Great interpersonal skills
    • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Highly organized Desired Skills:
      • Licensed MD, DO, NP, PA or RN
