The Position
THE CITY is seeking a talented, versatile, mission-driven individual to join our team as a full-time Individual Giving and Events Manager. This position will join a five-member development and communications team and play a key, strategic role in helping THE CITY deepen fundraising capacity. Reporting to the Director of Development, this position will be responsible for implementing a robust events and individuals giving strategy that builds and maintains donor relationships and increases individual support and engagement across giving levels.
What You Will be Doing


  • Collaborate in creating and implementing effective strategies to meet and exceed individual giving revenue goals.
  • Maintain direct relationships with donors and build new relationships by creating opportunities for engagement with THE CITY and by highlighting the organization's reporting and impact.
  • Collaborate with Membership Manager to develop and execute fundraising appeals to meet annual fundraising goals and implement a robust moves management strategy for higher level membership donors.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Development to create and implement an annual strategy around all event activity including cultivation, fundraising and revenue generating events.
  • Conceive and execute income-generating strategies for fundraising events, including sponsorship and underwriting solicitation, peer-to-peer solicitations, ticket sale strategies, and ancillary fundraising activities such as gift bag, raffle/auction, and other event-related in-kind donations.
  • Participate in efforts to feed the pipeline of prospective Board members.
  • Collaborate with Associate Director for Institutional Giving and the Sponsorship Manager to grow corporate program
  • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising
    • Experience with event planning and programming
    • Proven track record managing an active portfolio and securing individual and major donor gifts
    • Self-starter with ability to get up to speed quickly and work independently in a fast-paced work environment.
    • Highly motivated, organized, flexible, and proactive
    • Experience with Bloomerang, DonorBox or other database management systems a big plus
    • Must be able to work occasional special events (including evenings and weekends) as needed, and additional hours during peak times as required
    • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

      Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000 depending on experience
      Benefits: 20 days of accrued paid time off and two floating holidays per year; 10 paid holidays; 8 paid sick days.
