SS+K is part of the M&C Saatchi Group, a global marketing & communications network. -+ + + + + + + + + + + + + -ROLE Planning Director / Group Planning Director -DEPARTMENT Strategy -REPORTS TO Managing Director, Strategy -SUPERVISES Senior Strategists / Associate Strategists -TYPE Full-Time Exempt -RESPONSIBILITIES -This role will serve as the most senior brand planning, consumer, and cultural insights lead in the cross-functional strategy group. The role will be responsible for both leading strategy on high profile client engagements, as well as helping to enhance brand planning skills of the wider strategy team. This role will partner closely with the Creative Director to lead a strategically driven creative process from initial client briefing to final activation. -Within that remit you will be responsible for: ---- Lead strategy & planning for multiple clients and/or new business opportunities. Partner with the account director in a client-facing leadership capacity, assess the strategy needs of the client engagement, and complete the strategic deliverables required to progress the business. ---- Partner with the Creative Director on developing powerful and effective creative work for clients. Turn strategic insights into inspiring creative briefs, and work closely with creative teams throughout the creative development process to bring these briefs to life through creative expressions. ---- Drive primary and secondary research to generate consumer, brand and cultural insights. Identify and engage 3rd party research vendors for qualitative and quantitative research. Turn research into compelling strategic recommendations ---- Guide the development of communications plans for creative campaigns. Coordinate with other strategists and media teams as needed to develop tactical channel plans and measurement recommendations.--- Champion human and cultural insights for the SS+K. Help cultivate proprietary insights products for earned media opportunities and to generate new client interests. ---- Mentor up and coming brand strategists. Teach members of the strategy group the foundational skills needed for developing sharp insights, powerful briefs, brand development, and other key deliverables. Help educate junior account and creative team members on how to best collaborate with the Strategy team. -QUALIFICATIONS ---- 10+ years in a brand strategy role(s) for agencies and/or brands ---- 5+ years as lead strategist on pieces of business ---- Expert in qualitative and quantitative research ---- Expert in brand development and creative development ---- Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills ---- A curious observer of people and culture ---- A great listener and consensus finder ---- Organized, detail-oriented, resourceful, and inquisitive ---- A self-starting multi-tasker that can handle the pressure of several assignments at once -BENEFITS -We value our teams and are committed to their success!
