Job Description:

A healthcare facility in Brooklyn is actively seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to join their staff as their new -Infection Control Director (RN). In this role, the -Infection Control Director (RN) assists in infection surveillance in the facility by observing patient's charts and laboratory reports in order to identify infections developed after admission or infections present on admission

Responsibilities

The -Infection Control Director (RN):

• 
  
• Maintains awareness of any problem in the facility and facility-affiliated outpatient areas concerning surveillance of communicable diseases or any unsanitary conditions -
  
• Conducts infection surveillance by observing patient's charts and laboratory reports in order to identify infections developed after admission
  
• Observe the general state of cleanliness
  
• Collect -special information for use in research investigation by checking patient's charts, equipment, environment and epidemiologically significant information -
  
• Maintain -liaison with community agencies and regulatory agencies to monitor discharged patients under treatment for communicable
  
• Provide -staff orientation in regard to the Infection Control Program and Regulatory agency -
  
  
  Qualifications
  
  
  • 
    
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Microbiology
    
  • Active New York State Licensed Registered Nurse
    
  • CIC (Certification in Infection Prevention and Control) certification
    
  • 2+ years of experience as an Infection Control Registered Nurse with Hospital/ Nursing Home experience
    
  • Experience working with CDC and Joint Commission guidelines
    
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents
    
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and/or co-workers
