The US Business Manager's primary responsibility will be to support the Derivatives Clearing Services ("DCS") franchise within Markets & Securities Services ("MSS"), which consists of Exchange Traded Derivatives and Cleared OTC Derivatives. This individual will also provide support for MSS's Platform Solutions group, which is comprised of sales personnel across Securities Finance, Securiteis Services, Global Intermediary Services, DCS, and electronic execution sales.
The Business Manager role mostly consists of ensuring that business operations are run smoothly, enabling the front office to better deliver services to their clients, keeping our costs under control, ensuring proper conduct and behaviors, while managing risk, regulatory and organizational changes.
This role will be fulfilled in coordination with other regions, ensuring effective partnership with Front Office, Control office, and Support functions.
Responsibilities
P&L / Data Quality Assurance:


  • Responsible for review and accuracy of daily and monthly P&L, requiring strong attention to detail
  • Ensure accuracy of daily reports and reconcile to general ledger at month end
  • Perform daily position limit monitoring and futures expiry oversight
  • Provide support to the DCS collateral management team

    Regulatory / Audit / Conduct
    Some areas of accountability include compliance with current regulation and ensuring the business keeps pace with regulatory reform. The COO team also works with the business to ensure it is well controlled and facilitates the continuous evolvement of the risk and control framework via enhancements to policy, process and infrastructure.

    • Direct involvement as it pertains to all audits either internal or regulatory
    • In partnership with embedded control officers, managing the risk and control environment via a robust governance, ensuring all risks are understood, reported and managed within risk appetite
    • Analyze impact of regulatory change in collaboration with Compliance and Regulatory teams and implement business adaptations
    • Drive the conduct agenda playing your part to ensure the business continues to be aligned to HSBC values.
    • Maintain and update policies and procedures documents, as needed
    • Ensure supervisory roles and responsibilities are being performed in conjunction with written policies and procedures and maintain evidence where required

      Internal Business Management

      • Develop and manage the implementation of all DCS and Platform Sales Global Markets operational plans and priorities and to manage delivery of the agreed strategy.
      • Represent the business line at regional and global governance forums and interact with local regulators and industry groups on case-by-case basis
      • Ensure seamless coordination with regional and global business managers across DCS, Platforms and Global Markets
      • Responsible for ensuring strong relationship between front office and support functions.

        For this role, HSBC targets a fixed pay range between $125,000 and $150,000.
        The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

        Requirements
