As a Director in Cyber Security Architecture at Capital One, you will develop a robust technical architecture strategy that supports fully integrated solutions in a regulated environment. Acting as an internal consultant to the business, the ideal candidate will provide solutions that are strategic to enterprise technical standards as well as business needs. Utilizing in-depth knowledge of infrastructure, application development and software development methodologies, you will develop buy-in to the strategy and monitor execution toward target architecture, while improving standards and governance processes. As a leader, the ideal candidate will mentor enterprise architects across the organization, ensuring tight alignment to architecture standards and principles. -Job Responsibilities

• Establish architecture direction for their assigned subject matter domain, including standards, organizational or implementation patterns and frameworks that are aligned with overall strategy
• Work closely with Security Engineering, the Divisional Information Security Officers, Cyber Product Management, Enterprise Architecture, and infrastructure and operations teams
• Understand current as well as emerging security threats. Identify security architecture capabilities and design/document security architecture patterns to mitigate threats
• Develop architecture runways for delivering a set of new capabilities where several dependencies need to be managed
• Assess emerging technologies against security architecture to determine where they fill gaps, overlap with existing solutions or extend capabilities
• Serve as information security subject matter expert; provide advisory and consulting services as needed
• Review existing and proposed architectures, identify security design gaps, and recommend changes or enhancements
• Participate in solution architecture design; lead security efforts assisting with the integration and initial implementation of solutions
• Implement technical proof of concepts that demonstrate how an architecture or design would be realized and prove out key technical concepts
• Achieve security architecture compliance on requirements, including: Sarbanes-Oxley, payment card industry standards, HIPAA, data privacy requirements, as well as state and federal regulations
• Stay abreast of new security technologies and integrate into security architecture design when appropriate
• Manage/Coach (depending on role) and mentor junior architects and engineers -Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree -
  • At least 5 years of people management experience
  • At least 7 years of technical solution architecture or software engineering experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience working with cloud infrastructure servicesPreferred Qualifications
    • 5+ years of technical information security experience
    • 7+ years of working with security principles and technologies
    • 3+ years of data architecture and large scale data analytics
    • 5+Experience designing and implementing security solutions
    • 2+ years of experience with agile development
    • 5+ years of experience with cloud computing and security considerations
    • 3+ years of experience designing and implementing enterprise grade security solutions based on open source projects
    • 3+ years of experience with designing fully automated security solutions within a fully DevOps enabled enterprise
    • 3+ years of defining strategy for security organizations in cross functional and matrixed enterprises
    • Master's degree
    • CISSP or SANS certifications

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $269,400 - $307,500 for Director, Solution ArchCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
