Job Description:

A New York City-based financial services organization is currently seeking an experienced Legal professional to join their staff in a VP position. In this role, the -VP Legal will be responsible for -providing high-quality legal advice, guidance, and services to seasoned teams, in addition to corporate, regulatory, compliance, and other fields of law relevant to the day-to-day services provided by an In-House Legal Department.

Responsibilities:

The VP Legal will:

• 
  
• Manage and/or assist with all legal aspects of fundraising, including fund formation, structuring vehicles, capital raising processes, and other ongoing legal requirements, which may include due diligence activities
  
• Act as lead counsel on the investment structure agreements and liaise with partners
  
• Provide leadership in supporting M&A ambitions, acting as a business partner supporting all phases of transactions
  
• Draft and negotiate a wide variety of contractual arrangements
  
• Act as a trusted advisor to team members on relevant legal issues affecting the businesses
  
• Oversee the work of external counsels engaged in managing fund transactions
  
• Assist with regulatory compliance and the implementation and administration of core policies and procedures (e.g., compliance, AML/KYC, conflicts of interests, etc.)
  
• Identify and track regulatory developments and best practices in the areas of compliance, securities law, and corporate governance
  
• Performing other duties, as needed
  
  Qualifications:
  
  
  • 
    
  • 7+ -years of experience in Private Practice and/or In-House environment
    
  • Bachelor's Degree
    
  • Experience in Fund Formation, Private Equity, Private Credit, and/or Debt Investment
    
  • Solid analytical and problem solving skills
    
  • Great interpersonal skills
    
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
    
  • Strong attention to detial
    
  • Highly organized
