the Sr. Director, IT Infrastructure & Operations, you will be
responsible for building a highly effective team to plan,
modernize, manage, and support an enterprise-wide complex IT
infrastructure for Kyocera Document Solutions throughout the
America's. This is a key leadership role leading and supporting a
team of infrastructure professionals responsible for the
implementation of essential IT Infrastructure transformation
projects and on-going IT operations. The position will require you
to leverage a blend of strong managerial, technical, and
interpersonal skills to develop productive relationships within the
IT team and with business users. This important role is to ensure
IT business operations remain reliable, high performing, and
conducive to maximizing value, effectiveness, and efficiency
throughout the enterprise.
This role will be an integral part of the IT leadership team and
will work hand in hand with the VP of IT, Application Development,
Cybersecurity, Architecture, IT Service Management, and the
Business Transformation Office to provide expert guidance on all
technology initiatives. This role is expected to continuously
engage with IT and business teams to improve IT's technical
capabilities and reliability. This role will solicit ideas,
proactively recommend projects and support large scale initiatives
to drive technical innovation and process improvements.

Responsibilities
+ Lead the company's IT Infrastructure transformation efforts,
focusing on developing and delivering reliable services and
strategies to support the company's business objectives.
+ Revitalize, lead, and manage a dedicated and innovative team of
IT professionals responsible for transforming, implementing,
operating, and supporting IT infrastructure.
+ Lead, manage, and perform hands on support for the implementation
and maintenance of core IT systems such as networking, internet,
servers, cloud, operating systems, storage, data centers,
telephony, authentication, VPN, firewalls, routers, etc. by using
best practices and frameworks such as ITIL to continuously add
value and efficiency to the organization.
+ Identify technical, performance and reliability gaps by ensuring
the active monitoring of system performance, system logs,
software/OS versions, equipment service dates, vendor service level
agreements, etc., and proactively recommend projects and tactics to
remediate identified issues.
+ Work directly with the IT leadership and Cybersecurity teams to
continuously support and improve KDA's Cybersecurity program, cyber
defenses, policies, and procedures. Support the execution of
vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, disaster recovery
planning and exercises. Swiftly remediate vulnerabilities to
protect corporate endpoints, networks, databases, and system
access.
+ Manage and maintain the escalation process for issues received
from other IT groups such as the desktop support and application
teams.
+ Work in conjunction the Digital Transformation / Architecture
Team to research and assess emerging technologies and trends,
identify new opportunities for innovation, develop and implement a
comprehensive IT Infrastructure transformation strategy and roadmap
with measurable objectives and milestones.
+ Champion and drive internal continuous improvement processes to
ensure consistent and reliable technical delivery that is agile,
timely, cost-effective, and risk appropriate.
+ Contribute to the creation of IT strategies, budgets, processes,
policies, and procedures as they relate to IT infrastructure and
Operations.
+ Provide strategic infrastructure oversight on all IT
transformation projects, ensuring that all tasks and milestones are
aligned with the IT department's broader vision and objectives such
as ERP, CRM, Business Intelligence (BI), Business Process
Management (BPM), and more.
+ Develop and maintain productive relationships with direct
reports, IT leadership, and business end users to ensure their
needs are properly received, interpreted, prioritized, and
managed.
+ Hire, mentor, and coach IT Infrastructure team members, providing
guidance on best practices and opportunities to develop their
skills and capabilities.
+ Develop metrics to measure the success of digital initiatives and
make data-driven decisions.
+ Work to create a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
across the organization.
+ Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
+ BS Computer Science, BS in a related field, or extensive work
experience.
+ 15 + years of management or supervisory experience leading
technical staff such as network engineers and system
administrators.
+ Working knowledge of server operating systems and administration
for Windows, Linux/Unix.
+ Working knowledge of Cisco hardware and networking protocols,
TCP, BGP, MPLS, UDP, DNS, DHCP, IP routing, firewalls, etc.
+ Working knowledge of enterprise telephony, SIP, VoIP,
collaboration/conference systems, etc.
+ Working knowledge of enterprise private network infrastructure
design and architecture.
+ Working knowledge of network security monitoring and threat
detection systems.
+ Working knowledge of VPN management, deployment, and
configuration.
+ Knowledge of IT security practices, authentication systems
including SSO, OS scripting, malware prevention, traffic analysis,
log analysis, load balancers, and broad exposure to IT hardware and
software.
+ Experience managing IT budgets and recruiting IT staff.
+ Experience with outsourcing, negotiating large contracts and
large-scale vendor management.
+ Experience with business case writing, development, and
review.
+ Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all
levels of personnel and explain complex technical solutions to all
levels of management.
+ Excellent analytical, time management, prioritization, and
problem-solving skills.
+ The ability to routinely support IT operations, departmental
strategy, and priorities.
+ Good written, oral, presentation, and interpersonal skills to
interact effectively with all levels of personnel.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
+ Experience working with teams that are available 24/7 including
on and offshore resources.
+ Ability to travel 10% of the time when needed (overnights
included)
Preferred:
+ Experience with Cloud server platforms such as AWS, Azure, IBM
Cloud.
+ Experience leveraging, managing, and integrating cloud-based
applications.
+ Experience with managed service providers.
+ Experience with Azure AD and Office 365.
+ Experience with server virtualization using VMware.
+ Experience implementing and maintaining enterprise wireless
systems, Aruba a plus.
+ Experience with carrier PIP circuit delivery, broadband, and
premise wiring.
+ Experience working on stressful events such as severity 1 system
incidents.
+ Experience managing and implementing systems in medium to large
organizations.
+ Experience supporting the implementation of organizational change
and process reengineering.
+ Experience creating and maintaining system documentation.
+ Experience managing email security and SPAM gateways.
+ Experience working in an ORACLE/SAP environment.
+ Experience with IT methodologies and frameworks such as ITIL,
Agile, COBIT, etc.
+ Experience working with ITSM systems such as ServiceNow.
+ Experience working with/for a Japanese company or the copier
industry.
+ Experience managing international teams and offshore
resources.
+ Ability to translate business non-technical requirements to
technical requirements and the reverse.
+ Project management experience
