Accounting Manager - Business Management & Family Office Services Group

Job Description:

The PKF O'Connor Davies Business Management and Family Office Services Group provides accounting, reporting, investment monitoring and oversight, tax planning and compliance, and other services to affluent individuals, family offices, executives and their businesses. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing service engagements to ensure full client expectations are achieved. This individual will also be responsible for the development and motivation of the group---s staff while providing them with leadership and guidance.


  • Manage client engagements which include the following services: accounting, financial reporting, investment reporting and oversight, bill payment, employee management/payroll processing, banking and cash management, tax compliance, advanced planning, administrative services and lifestyle support.
  • Manage and perform Controller responsibilities for clients including but not limited to: preparing and/or reviewing financial statements and reports, cash flow reporting and budgeting, trust and estate accounting and administration and maintaining information for tax preparation and special projects.
  • Coordinate and execute other client services as required including asset purchases, sales and financing transactions, contract monitoring/compliance, insurance monitoring and oversight, and residence management
  • Participate in Group---s operational and administrative initiatives including the development and implementation of systems, processes, procedures, controls and staff training designed to accommodate the clients--- needs and the group---s objectives.


    • Provide day-to-day leadership and management of staff; hire, train, and motivate team members and assess employees--- ability to achieve desired performance levels


      • Manage quality and efficiency of client services and profitability of client relationships
      • Other responsibilities include client service, staff training, participation in marketing and business development initiatives, client billing and collections and presentations


        • Bachelor---s or advanced degree in Accounting.
        • Active CPA
        • 6+ years experience in accounting and tax (CPA firm experience preferred)
        • Experience working with closely held operating businesses, affluent individuals, families, and executives.
        • Extensive accounting, business and personal financial statement experience including investment accounting and reporting and knowledge of individual, partnership and trust taxation.
        • Experience managing a team of at least 3 individuals.
        • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong work ethic.
        • Excellent communication and computer skills.


          • Ability to work collaboratively with other team members on multiple projects at once while consistently completing projects on time, efficiently, and with the highest quality


            • Ability to develop employees and teams through regular coaching and feedback leading to positive results
