The role This is a senior role and we're looking for someone who has prior experience building a business in a greenfield situation. We’re very excited to be looking for a Head of Sales to develop our brand presence and sell our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance data and technology solutions within the North America Financial Services sectors and other verticals. The market opportunity has been established, the initial product set has been built and the company has already had substantial success in the UK and US to date. We are looking for someone to drive growth in North America based in New York. While the team will start small, we are looking for someone capable of scaling this rapidly. The candidate will need to begin with a very hands-on role in building and growing a sales team and working the marketing team to build a world class lead generation machine. Over-time they will need to help build the infrastructure out to cover broader functions including Customer Success, HR, Finance etc. The ideal candidate will also have a broader business perspective, potentially with experience in management consulting or comparable professional services. They should also have a good awareness for what it takes to succeed at an early stage business and will likely have had a senior role driving growth in a similar fast paced environment. They will be expected to take a key role in the leadership team for the whole company and actively contribute to the overall business direction and strategy. Direct experience in AML or the broader risk and compliance technology space would be a bonus but is not mandatory, although the candidate should have a good understanding of financial services industry so they can quickly become credible with our clients, and they should be passionate about new technologies. It’s a proactive, high-energy, fast-paced environment and the candidate will need to be able to work independently to get the business off the ground, but we have a very close collaborative team and there is plenty of financial and leadership support to help the right candidate succeed and thrive. Responsibilities Initial Player/Coach role leading the sales team from the front Set the North America commercial go to market strategy and tactics to deliver company goals Hire, develop and retain a best in class sales team Build a strong culture Supervise/guide Marketing team (managed by Global CMO) Build/support other functions as required, e.g. Customer Success, HR, Finance, etc Engage with senior stakeholders – investors, regulators, large clients, etc. REQUIREMENTS The ideal candidate Smart, ambitious and motivated individual that doesn’t take themselves too seriously Passionate self-starter that is self-directed and able to execute independently Strong team spirit and able to work effectively in collaboration with others Strong leadership skills; able to lead, develop and manage a large team of people Keen strategic and commercial instincts and able to actively contribute to the company growth strategy Track record in building teams and driving new business growth Start-up mentality a must, prior start-up experience a benefit Excellent communication and negotiation skills, able to manage senior stakeholders Hungry to support/drive sales efforts and get help get deals over the line Strong understanding of the broader financial services market a must, with experience in AML or broader Risk/Compliance and B2B SaaS software preferable Minimum of ten years professional business experience Willingness to travel around North America as required
