Job Summary The Vice President, Project Implementation is responsible for day-to-day management and oversight of in-house project managers and construction managers for JDC/DCO energy efficiency projects. This team oversees the contractual, design, bidding/procurement, quality assurance, scheduling, commissioning, financial, and administrative aspects of projects, is has primary responsibility for delivering on-time, on-budget projects, achieving exemplary client satisfaction and referenceability, and mitigating key risks to the company. Works with finance/cost accounting and project management team to track project status and financial performance against stated completion and profitability objectives, leveraging JDC/DCO information systems (including ProCore). Coordinates with clients and prospects, business development teams, and engineering teams to help ensure that proposals, requests for proposals (RFPs), bid packages and POs/subcontract agreements are developed and managed within applicable company systems, are consistent with expectations for constructability, and comply with applicable federal, state and local programs, laws and regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, retain and manage, on a day-to-day basis, project managers, construction managers and site superintendents managing JDC/DCO client projects for energy efficiency.
  • Personal engagement in project management of critical client projects to train project and/or construction managers, to address project and client escalations and to drive corrective action plans.
  • Lead periodic (monthly and quarterly) project status/financial reviews with project managers to ensure achievement of targeted profit, timely invoicing from subcontractors and to clients, targeted cash flow and project schedule.
  • Participate in client meetings as necessary help to ensure cost and schedule performance, subcontractor execution and client satisfaction.
  • Review bid packages and contracts for clients and subcontractors, oversee award of contracts to subcontractors and award contract reviews, and ensure issued contracts comply with applicable federal, state and local programs, laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans for projects at risk of failing to achieve timely and/or on-budget completion, including a monthly assessment of project risk.
  • Coordinate with DCO EVO Project Execution on a monthly basis to review status of key projects, corrective action plans and consistency in use of JDC/DCO systems and processes.
  • Participate in business planning as a member of JDC's executive leadership.
  • Assist with client proposals, submittal review and requests for information as appropriate
  • Lead development, implementation and maintenance of standard operating processes, procedures and business systems aimed to improve client satisfaction, achieve project timing and profitability objectives, improve personal growth and satisfaction of staff and build loyalty with key subcontractors and business partners.
  • Ensure company safety policies are being followed on job sites by company staff and subcontractors. Key Behaviors

      • Self-driven with a clear focus on high quality and business profit Education and Experience Bachelor's degree required and/or ten years relevant experience in energy conservation projects, construction management, HVAC industry and/or engineering firm. CEM or similar energy certification preferred. PMP Certification and Procurement Certification preferred. Familiarity with energy incentive programs preferred, especially New Jersey energy and public procurement law. Experience in construction management and project bidding required in NJ. Must have a strong facilities background and project management experience with energy conservation measures. Other Requirements This position is located in Lawrenceville, NJ, and requires travel to jobsites. Must have a valid driver's license. Must be able to work extended hours when required.
