Latino U College Access, Inc. (LUCA) Location: White Plains, NY 10603 Job Description College Access Program Manager- The Organization: Latino U College Access (LUCA), is a growing non-profit located in White Plains, NY, dedicated to helping high potential, low income, first generation Latino students to and through college completion, with the intent of breaking the cycle of poverty and empowering the next generation of leaders. In only seven years LUCA's comprehensive models have reached over 4,700 families and students with information and support about the college admission and financial aid process. Position Description: LUCA is seeking a dynamic, motivated individual to join our successful and growing organization as part of our program leadership team. The College Access Program Manager supports our high school Scholars through their college search, application and financial aid process.The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to guiding and mentoring high school students who are low income, and first in their families to attend college. The College Access Manager also leads community programs in partner school districts including FAFSA Boot Camps, information sessions, in-school workshops and manages a team of over 100 community volunteers, 40 who serve as college coaches.The Program Manager will be responsible for the development and management of these programs, ensure that they are consistent with best practices and best standards of quality and are consistent with the mission and strategic goals of LUCA. The Program Manager will utilize professional methodologies for all aspects of program development, implementation, evaluation, and coordination. Key Responsibilities: Program Management: Manage college access program including recruitment of annual cohort of Latino U Scholars in high school and recruitment of volunteer college coaches. Support families and students as they navigate college admissions and financial aid including completion of FAFSA, NYS TAP and CSS Profile. Deliver community information sessions and FAFSA Boot Camps in partner school districts. Develop program curriculum and facilitate implementation of student and family workshops to deliver programming at the highest level. Volunteer Coordination: Supervise, Train and Support Volunteers and College Coach Mentors. Develop curriculum, prepare for and lead high-quality trainings for college access and FAFSA volunteers. Ensure excellence in service, troubleshooting problems and issues as they arise, evaluating program delivery and adjusting curriculum and working in partnership with other staff, community and corporate partners, and school administration to ensure the highest quality of service to students and families. Program Quality and Curriculum Delivery: Lead a team of College Coach volunteers to execute program implementation focused on key objectives. Responsible for development and evaluation of curriculum focused on serving students participating in the programs. Develop program content and research sources of professional college access information. Update program handbooks, guides detailing activities for client programs. Establish community partnerships and develop existing relationships. Utilize partnerships to generate support and advocacy for the mission of LUCA. Foster and maintain relationships with Latino U Scholars and partnering school district administrators. Provide workshop facilitation during evening or weekend sessions as needed. Manage expenses incurred by programs. Evaluate, Track and Report on Progress: Track student participation and program impact. Conduct on-going and year end formal program evaluations detailing qualitative and quantitative data measuring effectiveness and efficiency of programs including recommendations for improvements and enhancements.Maintain clear records and reports required for grant reporting purposes including student registration, participation, sign in and attendance tallies, program accomplishments. Include feedback from mentors, students, partners and volunteers. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required; graduate credits in social work, school counseling or related field, highly preferred. Minimum 3 - 5 years experience in college access/success, and/or college advising of first gen students. Passion for educational opportunity and equity for underrepresented youth. Excellent problem-solving skills, initiative and ability to work independently Bilingual Spanish/English required Superb interpersonal, communication, writing and presentation skills Supervisory experience working with community groups, implementing programs and /or managing teams of volunteers. Experience with facilitating training and workshop sessions for students, families and volunteers. Exceptional project management, ability to monitor workflow independently, and meet multiple goals and deadlines. Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to multitask and handle changing priorities Ability to work well with diverse constituents from high school students to corporate executives Ability to collect, analyze and utilize data for program improvement and decision making Mastery and comfort with technology, databases and communications programs including Google Suite, PowerPoint Excel, and database systems (e.g. Salesforce) Valid Driver's License; must own vehicle Ability to work evenings and weekends, as required To Apply: Email cover letter and resume to Julie DelValle Nunn, Operations Manager at ******************* Please specify College Access Manager in subject line.
