Kadmon is a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing innovative medicines for serious unmet medical needs. Founded in 2009, Kadmon has pioneered a new approach to the traditional biotech model by building, from inception, a vertically integrated company comprised of innovative drug discovery platforms, a deep clinical pipeline and a commercial operation with specialty pharmaceutical products.
We have assembled a diversified portfolio of novel drug candidates in autoimmune and fibrotic diseases, oncology, monogenic diseases and metabolic disease. Our company currently has drug candidates in clinical development across multiple indications. Kadmon employs approximately 125 people across corporate, scientific and commercial functions. Our commercial operations are conducted through a hepatology-focused sales force supported by a full commercial infrastructure, including managed markets experts, medical science liaisons and experienced regulatory, quality and chemistry, manufacturing and controls teams.
As we are a small firm Biotech company, the ability to interact with staff (at all levels) in a fast paced start-up environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality is crucial to this role. Expert level written and verbal communication skills, strong decision making ability and attention to detail are equally important.
Job Description:
The Senior Director of Enterprise Transformation has two primary accountabilities:
The Sr. Director will lead all IT organizational change strategies and initiatives. He/she will be responsible for developing an enterprise-wide strategy to align operations to the planning and delivery of measureable outcomes. This includes core business capability changes spanning R&D, Clinical, Commercial and Core Business functions, as well as internal IT improvement efforts such as implementing ITIL and IT General Controls.
The Sr. Director will also be responsible for the overall health of the IT project portfolio. This includes all elements of budget planning, resource allocation, risk mitigation, and the overall financial and commercial success of initiatives.
Key Responsibilities: Enterprise Transformation -Establishes an evaluation and prioritization framework to support Kadmon's strategic roadmap and solve core business problems, ensuring that the 'right' IT initiatives are undertaken, success measured, and benefits realized. -Provides vision and leadership for developing and maintaining strategic roadmaps, principles, technical standards and governance for enterprise applications, including web applications, collaboration tools and productivity solutions. Accountable for managing system lifecycle management, with an emphasis on maturing Kadmon's Clinical IT Landscape.-Partners with key stakeholders (IT and business) on the planning and implementation of all enterprise initiatives.-Champions IT project management disciplines and provides the processes, structures, and tools for program and project management across IT projects. Works with Senior Vice President, Program Management to ensure consistent project management disciplines are followed. -Develops and supports a governance structure and ensures accountability. Enables predictability of outcomes for each transformation initiative.-Ensures the technical integrity, performance and integration of enterprise applications footprint; maximizing organizational ROI-Works with CIO, Director of Enterprise Applications and Director of Infrastructure, Operations and CISO to develop and manage all capital and expense budgets associated with enterprise applications development and support.
IT Project and Portfolio Management (PPM)-Supports large-scale, enterprise-wide IT projects that incorporate proactive and innovative solutions that align to the organization's overarching strategic roadmap, addresses business challenges and achieves organizational goals and objectives while integrating how the big picture of these initiatives come together from initiation through implementation.-Has overall accountability for Program and Project practices for IT and Enterprise projects; responsible for defining, developing, standardizing, implementing, and continuously improving Program and Project Management methodology, policies, processes, tools and metrics.-Develops and implements an IT Change Management Plan, Stakeholder Management and Communication Management for the entire portfolio of IT projects.-Incorporates capacity planning (resource management and allocation) for effective and timely execution of prioritized strategic programs and projects.-Responsible for developing and standardizing the Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) services.-Establishes a consistent and cohesive framework to ensure continuous improvement towards a more effective delivery of the reporting and insight required to support the successful delivery of programs across the organization.
Qualifications:
Education: -Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field required. -Master degree in Business Administration preferred.
Experience: -15+ years of progressive IT experience; minimum of 3 years in strategic roles-5+ years of experience as a Project Manager, Program Manager, or Product Manager-3+ years in Life Sciences industry experience-3+ years of experience each of the following: developing and deploying program and project best practices, policies, procedures and processes; enterprise governance; business transformation; business analysis; enterprise architecture
Skills:-Advanced communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received by the customer; ability to influence senior management-Project Management skill set: including cross functional project management, structured methods for planning and delivery of results, tools and techniques, creation and leadership of teams-Continuous improvement and process optimization experience-Advanced planning and organization skills
Certifications:-Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification-ITIL v3 Foundation Certified preferred
