New 42 engages a wide diversity of New York City youth, artists, educators, and audiences through the New Victory's stage presentations from around the world; award-winning education and youth employment programs; New Victory LabWorks, an incubator for new works; and, state-of-the-art studio space for New York City's creative community. Engaging New Yorkers from the youngest years on, the New 42 is in an exciting period of transition with a new President & CEO, Russell Granet, making this an exciting time to join the New 42 Finance/HR team. Responsibilities include supporting the workforce development of a people-first organization; providing guidance to department leaders; offering feedback and advice on employee and organizational issues; overseeing the work of the HR Associate; administering benefit plans, onboarding, offboarding, and hiring efforts; ownership of ad-hoc and regularly occurring reporting (monthly, quarterly, annually) for internal purposes and external requirements; and being the trusted advisor for internal stakeholders, providing expert advice, counsel and coaching for managers in all aspects of HR (compensation, benefits, HR policies, etc.). Requirements: B.A. and a minimum of 5 years HR experience with progressive human resources organizations. Demonstrated ability to navigate successfully in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, and dynamic organization. Significant influence/negotiation/coaching skills and experience working with managers and senior-level executives. Knowledge and practical application of HR disciplines including employment and labor law, employee relations, management & leadership development, performance management, and organizational design. A creative and innovative approach to problem solving that balances the strategic goals of the company with the care and development of its workforce. A track record for developing an inclusive and diverse workforce and workplace. Master's degree and/or experience working with employees covered by collective bargaining agreements, a plus.
