Job Description:
This short term acute care facility is comprised of a dedicated and
highly specialized healthcare team focused on delivering top-notch
patient care throughout the community. This hospital is part of a
larger, national healthcare system with over 75 hospitals
throughout the country. The Assistant Director of Behavioral Health
will work at one of the hospitals located in New Jersey that is
recognized for several of their inpatient specialized programs,
including their Behavioral Health Psychiatry Department,Mental
Health Department, Sleep Medicine, and Cancer Care program.
Reporting to the Director of Mental Health Services, the Assistant
Director of Behavioral Health will oversee the inpatient unit,
collaborating with the unit psychiatrists, nurses, social workers,
therapists, and counselors to deliver top-notch patient care. The
Assistant RN Director will be a strong communicator, compassionate,
and dedicated to the safety and well-being of their patients within
the department. The Behavioral and Mental Health department will
have have both voluntary and involuntary inpatient admissions,
requiring different levels of attention. The Assistant Director of
the Behavioral Health Unit will have previous experience handling
patients who require a high level of inpatient psychiatric
attention, act as an advocate on behalf of the patients, and will
be the liaison between multidisciplinary teams to develop
favorable, individualized patient care plans.Being compassionate
and even-tempered is very important when communicating sensitive
information with the patient and their families or collaborating
with the behavioral health team. In addition, the Behavioral Health
Assistant Director will be accountable for the staffing,
scheduling, and evaluations of the nursing team, operational
work-flow, department budgets, and safety of the patients.
