Job Description:

• Contact: Please submit an online application -Part-Time (16H/week)
  • To represent the LIU College of Pharmacy beforethe legislative and administrative branches of New York State government withregard to innovations in the practice of pharmacy
  • Collaborate with LIU Pharmacy administrator(s) todefine goals and priorities, to discuss strategies, and to develop materials tobe used in advocacy efforts in Albany;
  • Develop working knowledge of the courses andopportunities available to pharmacy students enrolled in the LIU PHARM Dprogram;
  • Develop positive working relationships with individualsin state government in positions to affect state policy who are in key executivebranch positions,members of certain NYSSenate and Assembly committees and legislators who represent the campus andsurrounding area;
  • Arrange meetings with administrators, legislatorsand key staff to advance defined priorities, meetings to include LIU personnelwhen necessary;
  • File regular written reports to LIU Pharmacyadministrator(s);
  • Contact designated individuals in other NYScolleges of pharmacy as directed by LIU and coordinate meetings when necessary
  • Comply with applicable NYS lobbying laws andregulations with regard to registration and reports.
  • Collaborate with LIU government affairspersonnelto align University goals andinitiatives
    Requirements:
    • Previousexperience in governmental affairs
