Coney Island Hospital Department of Behavioral Health provides a wide variety of outpatient and inpatient services as well as psychiatric crisis/emergency services. A multilingual staff of Department of Behavioral Health clinical professionals provideshigh quality, culturally sensitive treatment to our patients. Providing comprehensive mental health services to individuals and families, our services include a 64-bed acute psychiatric inpatient program, an Adult Mental Health Outpatient clinic, two Assertive Community Treatment programs, a Chemical Dependency service including an Inpatient Detox program, Smoking Cessation program and Acute Care Addictions program. There are Child and Adolescent services as well as Psychiatric Emergency services and Consult Liaison Services.
Coney Island Hospital iscurrently looking for a Psychiatrist or a Psychiatrist Nurse Practitioner to join their Assertive Community Treatment program (ACT). This is afulltimeposition with flexibility to provide part-time coverage if desired.
We have twoACT teams - each consisting ofa team leader and there is an overall program director. In this role you willwork with the ACT program director to provide direct care and clinical oversight to patients our two ACT teams. This will entail direct care community visits and will work with our two interdisciplinary ACT teams along with a part time MD and NP who also provide direct care. Psychiatry residents also rotate on these teams. Possibility for electives by psych residents and to expand as a fellowship training site in community psychiatry can be considered with the right candidate.
