Float Physician Assistant - Orthopedics
*Berkeley Heights, Westfield and Florham Park NJ * Full TIME
If you are looking for a collaborative, dynamic, physician-led

then Summit Health is the place to be! We are seeking a licensed
Physician Assistant to work collaboratively with our Orthopedic
Department. The float physician assistant will work in the
inpatient setting covering Summit Health's orthopedic service at
Overlook hospital Monday through Friday. Duties will include
managing admitted patients, daily rounds and performing
consultations for both the floor and the emergency department. The
PA will be expected to independently manage patients with all types
of orthopedic problems and will frequently be required to use
skills such as fracture reduction and splinting. In addition to
hospital duties the float physician assistants will rotate for
first assist coverage in the operating room covering cases ranging
from total joints to arthroscopy to trauma. These cases may be at
Overlook hospital or at one of the nearby Summit Health ambulatory
surgical centers. The schedule will vary based on the rotation with
other providers but will include both day shifts and evening
shifts. There is currently no full overnight shift. The float PA
will also be included in weekend call rotation 1 weekend every 12
weeks.
