Job Description:
The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the Mount Sinai
Health System is offering an opportunity for a clinician with
academic interests. The Division is seeking a clinician educator to
support its growth at its Mount Sinai Hospital Campus. The position
is based at Mount Sinai Hospital, which is central to Mount Sinai
Health System's transformation into a leader in Population
Health.
The endocrinologist would provide clinical care in the outpatient
and inpatient setting for patients with endocrine conditions with a
focus in caring for patients within the developing comprehensive
weight management center. As such, the candidate should have
experience in care for all endocrine conditions (including
diabetes, thyroid, pituitary, adrenal and bone disease) but also
have a specific focus in obesity medicine. Endocrinologists with
certification by the ABOM in obesity medicine or intend to obtain
within 2 years are highly encouraged to apply. The endocrinologist
would join an established team of 20 physicians as well as a
multi-disciplinary team comprised of nurse practitioners, a
registered nurse, a registered dietician, and certified diabetes
educators. The endocrinologist also plays an important role in
educating Endocrinology fellows and medical residents.
Collaboration across specialties and an interest in clinical and /
or translational research are expected. This position comes with
