Job Description:
Hamilton-Madison House seeks a part time Psychiatrist or
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who will be
responsible for providing all medical services provided in all
Behavioral Health programs. Specifically, this includes: (A) Ensure
that all system patients receive appropriate evaluation, diagnosis,
treatment, medical screening and evaluation whenever indicated and
that all care is appropriately documented in the medical record.
(B) Assist in providing treatment guidelines with the Clinical
Management team. (C) Follow the formula for medications that have
been established for use in treatment milieu. (D) Assist in
supervision, staff development, and in-service training as needed.
(E) Provide direct supervision for medical staff and psychiatric
nurse practitioner trainees per week. (F) Meet and evaluate clients
in follow up evaluation for acute, chronic, urgent and emergent
medical condition.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills:
Doctorate Degree in Medicine or Qualifying License for Psychiatric
Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry preferred
NYS Professional Medical License and DEA License required
Two years' experience as a practicing psychiatrist or PMHNP
Experience working with community based programs and resources
designed to aid the State Medicaid and Medicare population
required
Knowledgeable in EMR systems
Training in medical and substance abuse treatment options and a
working knowledge of community resources and support networks
Bilingual in English and Asian language required
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to
work with a multidisciplinary team
Demonstrated ability to reach productivity and quality assured
goals as set forth by agency
Responsibilities:
Provide clinical oversight and management of all Behavioral Health
cases
Provide Psychiatric evaluation and management, crisis intervention,
treatment planning and case management to HMH's behavioral health
clients
Facilitate appropriate referrals and client advocacy
Participate in special projects and research studies to further
expand the programs' menu of services
Participate clinic team meetings, in-service training and other
in-house clinical conference
Facilitate a team approach toward treatment; train, equip and
educate other staff members concerning the culture of care of the
agency; and monitor, collect and evaluate data
Provide workshop/training seminars and other training activities to
staff and interns as needed
Develop and maintain partnerships with other organizations on
service delivery, research, community services and outreach
efforts
Maintain medical records documentation according to HMH, OMH, OASAS
policies and procedures
Meet productivity and quality assurance goals as set forth by
agency
Compensation: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Hours: Monday to Saturday, flexible, 3 - 6 hours per week
