The Future of Veterinary Medicine We're building the future of veterinary medicine at the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center, thanks to our transformative Gift of Love campaign to expand and enhance our clinical, educational, and research capacities. Construction is currently underway to add 37,000 square feet of new and renovated space, ensuring AMC is at the forefront of veterinary medicine for generations to come. Surgical Oncology Coordinator The Surgical Oncology Coordinator works directly with the Surgery Department, Client Services, clients and their RDVM offices to ensure a coordinated patient care and communication experience before, during, and after all consultation appointments and procedures. The peri-operative area is a fast-paced environment that requires an individual who is strong under pressure, clear communicator and very detailed orientated with an interest in veterinary medicine. SKILLS Minimum of 2 years Veterinary Clerical/Coordinator experience Minimum of 2 years customer service in a professional setting Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational skills, ability to multitask, and problem solving skills Ability to interact with all levels of staff, clients and veterinarian practices Ability to work with minimal supervision Ability to lift 50lbs and bend/kneel while helping with patient restraint is necessary Proficient computer skills EDUCATION Associates Degree in Science (Bachelor's Degree preferred ) or equivalent work experience SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Stocking, ordering, and maintaining files Performing labs, assisting surgeons and LVTs in Operating Room Answer incoming calls to RDVM and Service phones Schedule and audit appointments, procedures, and surgeries Confirm appointments and manage wait list Ensure outside medical records and diagnostics are available prior to appointment Keep inpatient owners informed of pets' status Keep RDVMs updated Explain Pre-op instructions to clients, help arrange discharges, and help present estimates Assist with research as needed Animal Handling Other duties as assigned Employment Type: Full Time Years Experience: 3 - 5 years Bonus/Commission: No
