Description:POSITION TITLE: Nurse Practitioner (Per Diem)
POSITION REPORTS TO: Medical DirectorORGANIZATION: VIP Community

supervision and guidance of the Medical Director, provides clinical
and medical services for the agency to ensure that optimal quality
services are rendered to all clients in a manner consistent with
current medical practices and in compliance with all regulatory
agencies. Order/renew and teach medication monitoring and
treatments to non-medical staff as ordered by M.D. or as per
physician's standing orders. Transcribe to M.A.R. File copies of
Rx's in Medication Administration Book and in shelter client's
chart. Check delivered medications for accuracy.POSITION FUNCTIONS:
- In collaboration and communication with psychiatrist: renew
medications, accept verbal orders for medications, and evaluate
results of lab tests. - Assess client physical complaints and
direct referral - Perform admission body check with weight, height,
vital signs and history. - Document all pertinent information on
medical chart. - Maintain all health office records including
immunization and physical examination records, charting, student
weights, medication administration records, etc. as required by
regulatory agencies. - Update the face sheet on the chart. - Enter
progress notes as needed. - Bring laboratory reports to the
attention of clinical team. - Work with clients on the importance
of medication compliance, side effects - Attend in-service training
sessions, staff meetings required by shelter for continued growth
and development. - Develop and train staff and implement
health-related procedures. - All other duties as assigned by the
Medical Director.1. Participate in Job Training and Education
Programs, Meetings and Committees. - Attend mandatory in-service
annually. - Participate in various committees and meetings as
requested. - Attend seminars to further professional development. -
Maintain a high level of industry knowledge.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensed RN, NP - NYS Driving License - Acceptable clearance
checks for State Central Register, Driver license and
fingerprinting as required by the program. - Compliance with health
regulations for physical - 2 years' experience with management of
working with the homeless population served, preferably within
substance abuse treatment program(s). - Excellent written and oral
communication skills. - Ability to speak, read and write Spanish
preferred.JOB REQUIREMENTS/SETTING:Must possess sight and digital
senses or prosthetics that will enable the essential functions of
