Job Summary:
The Clinical Specialist promotes Cardiovascular Systems, Inc.'s OAS
Product line through training of current and potential customers,
the creation and execution of market development programs and
procedure case coverage within a defined territory/region/area;
provides clinical education and sales support to assist the sales
organization to meet/exceed projected physician and hospital staff
training responsibilities and to achieve assigned sales growth
goals; also, provides Clinical training and development for the
sales organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Physician and Hospital Staff Training and Education
- Physician eLearning completion
- Cath Lab "Lunch and Learns"
- OAS Product Board Training
- Proper patient/case selection, ancillary equipment choices and
procedural technique to maximize procedural success and patient
safety/outcomes
- CVL Product in-services
- Clinical Data Education
- Physician case Proctoring
Program Development and Execution
- Physician Training Programs
- CVL Staff Dinner Programs
- Journal Clubs
- Referral Physician Programs
- Executive Road Show Meetings
- Hospital Grand Rounds
- Community Market Development
- CEU Programs
- Assist with Execution of MedED Programs
Procedural Case Coverage
- Primary responsibility for Coronary Case Coverage
- Secondary responsibility (if time available) for Peripheral
Case Coverage
Development of Strong and Credible Customer Relationships and
Support
- Meets with customers (physicians and CVL Mgmt/Staff to
determine clinical needs, goals and requirements related to patient
care and to discuss how CSI products and services help achieve
these objectives
- Highly responsive to customer requests for service/support
- Reports customer complaints for CSI products and services
promptly (according to Company Policies and Procedures) and works
with CSI team mates to provide customers with optimal
solutions
- Builds positive customer relationships with key decision
makers
- Reflects positive and professional behavior in all
interactions; even when conflicts arise
- Develop reputation for excellent service and support
Sales Team Clinical Development and Education
- Clinical Expert and resource for Sales Team development
- Clinical leadership/participation on Team Conference Calls
- Clinical Support for presentations at Sales Meetings
Positive and Collaborative Teamwork with CSI colleagues across the
Organization
Responsible for Compliance with applicable Corporate Policies and
Procedures
Timely and Accurate Completion of Administrative Duties as
Assigned
- Expense Reports
- Requests for Information
- Weekly Reports
- Quarterly Business Plans
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ Years CVL Coronary Case Support Experience (Circulating,
Scrub, etc)
- RT, RN or BS degree/license
- Documented success in covering cases and teaching/training
others
- Commercial support and/or Per Diem successful track record
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required for Successful Job
Performance:
- Complete mastery of the coronary (and peripheral if covering
peripheral procedures) anatomy, physiology , angiographic views,
EKG, hemodynamic monitoring and interventional procedures
- Full understanding and expertise of interventional products and
technology that lead to successful procedural outcomes to include:
guide catheters, guide selection criteria, guide wires, balloons,
Bare Metal stents/DES and the differing products from companies in
this space commonly used for complex PCI's (and PTA's if covering
Peripheral procedures)
- Comfortable Presenting and Teaching Clinical Data and
Procedural technique to Physicians, CVL Management and Staff and
Sales People
- Comfortable interpreting and demonstrating trends from Clinical
Data; how to present such data to physicians, clinical and
non-clinical personnel in a compelling and credible fashion
- Positive, passionate and professional interpersonal skills that
reflect well and credibly on CSI
- Quick learner of new information - clinical, technological and
business strategy
- Driven and committed to meeting and exceeding assigned job
responsibilities regularly
- Strong, positive team player with internal and external
customers
- Solid, professional communication skills - written and
verbal
- Committed to excellence and high quality in all duties
Working Conditions:
- Infectious disease; Radiation; Blood borne pathogens
- Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment
(PPE)
- Ability to work in Operating Rooms and Cath Labs
- Ability to travel by car and plane. Must have valid driver's
license for state of residency
- Ability to conduct company business outside of the typical
Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, work-schedule
preferred
- Frequent travel up to 75% with some weekend travel
- Ability to work out of a home office
