The Director, Corporate Affairs, US Hematology and Cell Therapy
Communications will drive the creation and implementation of
communications strategies, plans and tactics for the company's US
Hematology franchise, with a focus on supporting products and
related educational programs.
This role works to elevate Bristol Myers Squibb's hematology
portfolio and commitment to the community. To accomplish this, this
role serves as a key strategic communications advisor to the US
Hematology business unit lead and product teams, proactively
preparing and executing integrated communications plans and
materials that drive brand understanding and differentiation and
support the company's business, policy and reputational goals.
This role will be responsible for creating a variety of branded and
unbranded content (i.e., data/regulatory milestones, external
partnerships, thought leadership) for internal and external
communications channels reaching multiple stakeholders, including
reporters, consumers, healthcare professionals and employees.
Importantly, this role will work closely with numerous stakeholders
across the BMS Commercial, Medical and Patient Advocacy teams in
the US and globally, in addition to a network of Corporate Affairs
colleagues supporting R&D, investor relations,
government/policy and digital/social communications, among
others.
The position requires a strong communications professional who
demonstrates sound business judgment and can work closely with
senior leaders in various parts of the organization to help drive
effective communications. To be successful, the individual must
possess the ability to think strategically and execute
tactically.
Develop and execute measurable, integrated branded and unbranded
external communications plans for the US market to raise the
profile of the US Hematology franchise and elevate the company's
commitment to the community, aligning with the Corporate and
Hematology strategies.
Create and manage a variety of branded (pre-approval through
lifecycle management) and unbranded content (i.e., disease
education, thought leadership) in executing communications
plans.
Provide strategic communications counsel to internal stakeholders
for Hematology and Cell Therapy product teams.
Interact with select media and influencers.
Develop close partnership with Worldwide and R&D Corporate
Affairs colleagues to ensure cohesive and/or complementary
communications plans, including for events like medical meetings
and data/regulatory milestones.
Liaise with various stakeholders to prepare for product milestones,
updates, partner announcements, and advocacy initiatives.
Consider appropriate multi-channel approach for all communications
opportunities, leveraging data and analytics to inform and deploy
strategic plans.
Partner closely with corporate communications and analytics teams
to ensure strategic, accurate and timely deployment on digital,
social and internal channels.
Oversee agency partner(s) to support communications work and
corresponding budget.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree & 10 to 12 years of professional experience in
Communications, with a focus on pharmaceutical product
communications in an agency or corporate setting
Strong business acumen skills, ability to think strategically, in a
creative and innovative manner.
External-focused mindset, with superb listening and interpersonal
skills.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills, applicable to
internal and external communications.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as
collaborate within a matrixed organization.
Creative and passionate professional who collaborates successfully
across numerous stakeholders.
Proficiency with digital communications and social media.
