Job Description:

A health services network in New York City is looking to add a licensed -Occupational Therapist (OT) to their growing -Rehab team at one of their rehabilitation & skilled nursing facilities in Brooklyn. In this role, the Occupational Therapist (OT) will be responsible for providing specialized activities to aid patients in mastering the skills necessary to perform daily tasks at home, work, school and in the community, and to cope with long-term disabilities.

Responsibilities:

The -Occupational Therapist (OT) will:

• 
  
• Evaluate -and treat -complex conditions of patients to identify problems and needs
  
• Formulate -and implements appropriate treatment plans
  
• Ensure that treatment precautions are taken in the implementation of the patient regimen
  
• Order, fabricate, fit, test, -and modify -customized personal equipment such as splints, lapboards, wheelchairs, etc.
  
• Maintain -adequate level of supplies and materials and ensures proper functioning of equipment
  
• Participate -in implementing and ensuring the maintenance of proper standards of OT -practice
  
• Provides teaching, guidance and direction to less experienced therapists in rendering care
  
• Assist -in the preparation and implementation of training and educational activities for departmental staff and others
  
• Prepare -and submit -reports and statistics on a regular and timely basis; prepare -records according to departmental procedures
  
• Perform other duties, as needed
  
  Qualifications:
  
  
  • 
    
  • 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience in a Rehab and/or Skilled Nursing setting
    
  • Bachelor's Degree
    
  • Active, unrestricted NYS Occupational Therapist (OT) license -
    
    Desired Skills:
    
    
    • 
      
    • BLS certification
